Your Mission:
Your mission is to spark connection, unlock productivity, and enable longevity for the tenants who work in two beautiful corporate office buildings in downtown Boston.  You’ll split your time between both locations, working one-on-one with clients to create and track personalized fitness plans.  You’ll also lead group exercise classes, such as spin, strength training, and circuit training. Lastly, you’ll also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and smooth operation of both small gyms.

The Legacy You'll Leave:
As a result of your time in this role, you helped grow revenue by 15–25% through personal training and memberships, while also building a strong, engaged tenant community. You were known as a friendly and approachable presence for everyone you interacted with in the gym.  Your involvement in events played a key role in their success, and your input was valuable to both buildings’ daily operations and special activations for the employees who worked there.

What You're Responsible For:

    • Personal Training (45%): Attract, train, retain, and engage a roster of personal training clients, ensuring they are on a fitness program that aligns with their goals and delivers measurable results. This includes onboarding, programming, progress tracking, and communicating with them in a way that motivates them.  Your monthly goal is to maintain a roster of at least 5-6 clients per each of your two sites.
    • Group Fitness Instruction (40%): Plan and lead weekly group fitness classes (and occasional private group sessions) across a variety of formats, including HIIT, strength, circuit, and spin. Responsibilities include program development, setting up and breaking down classes, and community engagement.  Your goal is to have 4-5 attendees per class - the good news is they’ve gained a lot of popularity over the last few months!
    • Facility Operations + Event Support (15%): Collaborate with your other Boston gym employees to create and execute quarterly programming that engages, retains, and delights tenants across both sites. Support general fitness center operations, including daily open/close procedures, equipment upkeep, cleanliness, and ensuring the overall safety and functionality of the space. This is a shared team responsibility based on a scheduled rotation.

Who You Are - Baseline Expectations:

    • You have 1+ years of experience in a fitness center environment. You may have worked as an instructor of a boutique studio or a personal trainer at a commercial gym.
    • Even better if your experience has touched the corporate fitness or wellness sector.
    • You must have a valid Personal Training certification from a nationally recognized organization.
    • You must be comfortable teaching multiple formats of group fitness classes to groups of all sizes.
    • You are proficient with both the Google suite (what lulafit uses) and Microsoft Office (what our clients use).  Don’t worry, you don’t need to be great at PowerPoint nor super savvy with Excel.

Who You Are - Core Competencies:

    • You are an exceptional time manager.  You have demonstrated that you can easily manage multiple fitness/hospitality/administrative tasks on a micro and macro level without dropping balls. You are always clear on how you should be prioritizing your time, and if you need clarification, you quickly align with your manager.
    • You are hyper-detail-oriented and organized. You approach how you work at your two sites as if you are a building manager or potential member because you care so deeply and want everything to be perfect for your members. This includes putting away equipment, ensuring towels are stocked, and keeping locker rooms clean, among other tasks. The same applies to how you manage your inbox and the way you organize yourself.
    • You are a clear and compelling communicator.  As part of a small team and knowing how you interact with your members matters, your communication is warm and effective.  You have demonstrated that you can proactively communicate your and your members' needs, challenges, and updates to your manager and team.  If you are hesitant to speak up, this is not the role for you.
    • Your hospitality mindset dominates how you approach others.  Even though you are serving as an Assistant Fitness Manager, above all else, we are a high-end hospitality service provider, and that comes through in how you show up every day in your role.
