About the Role:
Do you like to nerd out about the latest generation of digital image sensors? Do you like to build motion systems with microns of repeatability? Do you enjoy using feedback to compensate for non-ideal systems? If so, you'd feel at home here at Lumafield.
Our electrical engineers are able to successfully define and build complex systems that cross disciplinary boundaries, whether that's dealing with photons or accelerations or forces or gigabytes of data. What You’ll Do:
- Define system-level specifications for complex electro-mechanical systems
- Perform circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout
- Bring up boards and see them through testing and system integration
- Develop software for safety-critical components, factory tools, and prototypes
- Work with our outstanding group of engineers across disciplines to deliver integrated systems at a challenging price/performance target
- Own your designs all the way from prototyping to mass production at our own factory
About You:
- Familiar with ECAD software such as Altium Designer, Cadence, Mentor, KiCad, etc.
- Have experience debugging board-level communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, USB, etc.)
- Have at least basic familiarity with MCU firmware development
- Comfortable using Python, C, Linux, and basic modern data-science tools
- Passionate about user experience and product design
- Have a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
Bonus Points For:
- Have shipped your prior designs in a mass-produced product
- A portfolio of work that you can share
- Deep knowledge of grounding schemes
- EMI / EMC and safety-standards expertise
- A solid understanding of system-level and PCB-level thermal issues
- Experience with motor drives and position control
- Experience with cameras or other digital imaging systems
- Expertise in high speed digital design, controlled impedance, crosstalk, and/or signal integrity
- Familiarity with high-voltage power electronics
