When’s the last time you worked on a product that you felt made a positive impact on someone?

Lumosity is a brain training program with over 85 million users and 4.4 billion games played. In addition to improving Lumosity, we’re also creating new products that combine science, engineering and design to help people form better sleep habits, practice mindfulness, and more.

We’re looking for a talented mind to join our creative team to lead the design of meaningful product experiences within Lumosity. Since strong product design is vital to a strong product, your role in leading the team of Product Designers will be instrumental to building the future of Lumosity.

YOU ARE

    • An empathetic design leader with a drive to create elegant, innovative, and thoughtful product experiences used by millions of Lumosity users worldwide
    • Someone who identifies as a true experience designer by balancing the intersection of UX + visual design, understands how to combine the two into both functional and emotionally satisfying experiences, and is excited to teach others how to tap into that
    • Someone who is excited to get their hands dirty as they lead by designing, lead by directing, and lead by coaching
    • A well-rounded creative problem solver and conceptual thinker that can brainstorm ideas with the team and then guide how those ideas come to life
    • A macro and micro-thinker who can just as easily zoom out to look at the whole and zoom in to be detail-oriented
    • Resourceful enough to recognize the architecture and assets they already have available, with the vision to see how, when, where to push them
    • A highly collaborative contributor with a high degree of social sensitivity who understands the power of cross-discipline partnership
    • Someone who cares about moving the needle on business metrics and creating designs that deliver results
    • A hunger to succeed and the savvy to know how to bring that out in the people around them

YOU WILL

    • Manage the Product Designers, provide direction, and set best-practices output all product design touchpoints.
    • Design and unify the end-to-end experiences on the Core XP Team
    • Bridge how Product Designers integrate UX + visual design into holistic product experiences
    • Scale our Design Language by managing the design and development of our Component Library
    • Collaborate with Head of Creative and Head of Product on vision, and with the teams to make it reality
    • Work in an agile environment using data and analytics to inform user-centered design decisions and rapid iterative improvement

YOU HAVE

    • 10+ years experience as a leader and designer of mobile and desktop product experiences
    • An inspired portfolio of work that demonstrates a deep understanding of the problem, paired with elegant, innovative, and thoughtful solutions

    • Experience building rich multi-platform product experiences
    • A strong understanding of how to empower, coach, and guide your team to draw out their best work
    • Strong collaborative and communication skills to work on a close-knit team
    • Strong understanding of how to apply design frameworks to support business models
    • Proficient knowledge of Unity, Sketch, and the Adobe Suite
