Luxe Valet Inc. is seeking a motivated, experienced Payroll Manager to join our fast-growing team. The Payroll Manager will be responsible for performing a wide variety of record keeping and payroll processing activities including working with HR for employee on/off-boarding, ensuring personnel changes are entered accurately in the payroll system (Paylocity), posting changes in pay and tax status, processing the payroll of our US employees, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The ideal candidate has a track record of success as a payroll manager in a high-growth, fast-paced environment. We are looking for someone who takes ownership in the payroll process, is dedicated to ensuring employees are paid accurately, and who has an open-mind and positive attitude. This is a full-time, exempt position and reports to the Controller.

Responsibilities:

    • Manage weekly and bi-weekly disbursement of multi-state payroll, including garnishments, benefits, and taxes to 500+ US employees consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws
    • Experience with non-exempt employee payroll including the processing of tips a plus
    • Process verifications of employment, handle all payroll inquiries from employees
    • Enter all salary changes and employee changes including deductions, tax updates, direct deposits, garnishments, and tax levies
    • Ensure compensation payments, awards, commissions, bonuses, garnishments, wage assignments, child support, and other court orders are processed accurately
    • Ensure the processing of new hires, temporary workers, transfers, promotions and terminations is accurate, timely and in compliance with multi-state regulations
    • Process all tax payments for the company, resolve tax agency inquiries, and complete applications for tax ID numbers for new agencies
    • Resolve inquiries on payroll tax issues, payroll checks, and discrepancies pertaining to the general ledger
    • Reconcile quarterly activity to ensure accurate reporting of payroll taxes
    • Prepare all ad hoc reports such as year-end census reporting, management requests, multi worksite reports, employment statistics, worker’s compensation audits, and other required reports
    • Ensure regulatory compliance and prepare EEOC, Bureau of Labor statistics, multi-state reporting and other statutory compliance as needed
    • Critically review and analyze current payroll, benefits, and tax procedures in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations

Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
    • Minimum of six years of payroll experience, including at least two years of in-house payroll and tax processing experience in a payroll department
    • Certified Payroll Professional Designation preferred and American Payroll Association member a plus
    • Advanced knowledge of federal and state payroll and tax requirements and regulations. Multi-state experience is required
    • Experience with accounting month-end close process and NetSuite software, including recording journal entries, knowledge of how payroll transactions affect the GL and ability to reconcile payroll accounts
    • Team player with the ability to multi-task, handle multiple deadlines with quick and efficient time management and be flexible in a dynamic work environment
