We are looking for a client orientated and energetic Intermediate Network Consultant for our Calgary office. You will be responsible for building long-term client relationships that further business value, while providing consultancy services for the design and implementation of industry leading network technology solutions. You will work with clients to understand requirements through your savvy consulting skills, both business and technical.
A Day in the Life:
- Develop network technology solutions, taking into account business and technical requirements, sizing, existing infrastructure, data protection, security requirements and governance and recovery objectives to ensure solutions resolve clients’ requirements and challenges
- Participate in operational escalations to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary
- Collaborate with other internal teams, outsourced service providers and equipment vendors in the planning and maintenance of corporate network assets and technologies
- Help to develop and implement the plan for network technologies and services to meet or exceed technical and security standards and policies, Network PCI, and SOX compliance
- Ensure critical network infrastructure meets disaster recovery requirements and the Network team is ready and capable to participate in disaster recovery activities
- Participate in defining standards, policies and processes for network operations in alignment with our strategy
- Provide networking subject matter expertise in support of project teams
- Proactively improve the Network from implementing small configuration changes to initiating and leading large projects.
- Participate in gathering data pertaining to customer needs, and use the information to identify, predict, interpret, and evaluate system and network requirements
- Participate in recommending changes to improve systems and network configurations in client environments, and determine hardware or software requirements
What You Bring:
- 8+ years’ experience in infrastructure operations management and projects, with an emphasis on Network technologies
- Strong consulting presence, including advisory and project management knowledge/ skills
- SME level knowledge of network troubleshooting and monitoring systems
- Technical knowledge of a large enterprise or service provider Network with specific knowledge in WAN/LAN, MPLS, optimization, cloud computing, routing, switching, Wi-Fi, QOS and TCP/IP
- Experience with Cisco Routers/Switches/Wireles
- · Wireless, Catalyst IOS
- · Nexus NX-OS
- · VxLAN/EVPN
- · SD-Access
- · SD-WAN
- · Wireless Lan Controllers
- Firewall experience with Cisco ISE, Palo Alto Firewalls (Network configurations)
- Possess an in-depth knowledge of telecommunications hardware, protocols, and network systems.
- Networking Monitoring and Configuration · Solarwinds Orion NPM, NCM, Netflow, Device Tracker

Expected Salary Range plus 10% variable earnings
