Director of Product Engineering

The Role
You’ll lead two engineering teams, each delivering value every two weeks.

This role combines people leadership, product ownership, and commercial alignment - you’ll be accountable for outcomes, not just output.

You’ll partner with Product, Sales, and GTM leaders to ensure both teams are building the right things, at the right time, in the right way.

You’ll set delivery plans, stick to them, and make sure engineering decisions move our funnel and cost-to-serve metrics.

About us
Lyrebird Health is transforming the quality and accessibility of healthcare by automating clinicians' most time consuming tasks. Thousands of clinicians use Lyrebird across many disciplines — and this number is increasing every day.

These clinicians trust us to deliver a fast, reliable, and secure experience, and we value this more than anything. We want to earn trust while continuing to amaze our users.

What You’ll Do

    • Lead Two Teams: Manage and mentor two engineering teams, driving clarity, accountability, and growth.
    • Plan & Deliver: Own delivery plans across both teams, ensuring consistent two-week value drops for customers.
    • Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with sales, marketing, and GTM to tie engineering output directly to customer and business impact.
    • People Leadership: Grow engineers and tech leads into stronger leaders; spot misalignment or excuses early and address them directly.
    • Product + Business Focus: Prioritize initiatives based on funnel performance (activation, conversion, retention) and cost-to-serve.
    • Metrics-Driven: Track success through clear metrics and hold teams accountable to measurable outcomes.
    • Culture Champion: Embody our values: Relentless Progress, Speed Wins, Seek and Speak the Truth, and 100-0.

What You Bring

    • Proven leadership managing multiple teams or squads in a SaaS product company.
    • Strong delivery discipline: ability to create and execute multi-team delivery plans.
    • Comfortable working across engineering, product, and GTM to align priorities and ensure commercial impact.
    • Excellent people manager: coaching, challenging, and growing engineers and emerging leaders.
    • Business acumen: understands funnel and unit economics, able to connect product and engineering work to customer and revenue outcomes.
    • Technical fluency: not writing production code daily, but able to guide architectural and design decisions.
    • Direct, transparent communicator; thrives in a culture of speed, truth, and accountability.
At Lyrebird, we don’t just write code — you’ll help shape the future of the human experience.

If you want to pioneer, to create, and to see your work touch lives directly, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re building a team that reflects the diversity of the people who’ll benefit from our work. We want Lyrebird to be a place where everyone feels safe, supported, and able to thrive. If you’re from an underrepresented background in tech, we especially encourage you to apply — even if you don’t meet every single requirement.
