The Role
We are currently recruiting for our highly competitive software Associate program . Associates are key components of M33’s deal execution and origination strategies and will have extensive opportunities for growth and to take on increasing responsibility. We have a proven track record of developing our Associates into deal quarterbacks capable of handling all aspects of the investment process. Our goal is to build a team with complementary skill sets from different backgrounds, so there is no single ideal profile for this role. Instead, we value the underlying traits and motivations listed below.

Key responsibilities

    • Leading initial meetings and building relationships with founders and CEOs of prospective high growth technology and healthcare companies
    • Generating deal flow, and developing market overviews and thematic “deep dives” to help lead firm sourcing efforts
    • Participating in weekly sourcing team and investment committee meetings; this includes articulating investment theses and outlining attractive opportunities to the broader team and Managing Directors
    • Advancing deal processes from initial meeting through letter-of-intent
    • Assisting with all aspects of deal diligence, including financial and operational analysis, investment model and returns, market / competitive research, and organizational review
    • Project management of third-party diligence vendors and transaction closing process
    • Assisting with negotiations of letters-of-intent and definitive documentation
    • Collaborating with portfolio companies to support growth initiatives 

Profile

    • At least 2-3 years of work experience that includes some combination of investing, investment banking, management consulting (with case work related to PE), or corporate development roles. 
    • Impeccable work ethic and integrity.
    • Fluent in finance, accounting, Excel
