mPower is looking for a well-rounded Sr. Network Engineer to join our team. Our team consists of experts and professionals who have experience in management, administration, consulting, and technology. This position seeks to implement positive mission-oriented change, to deliver tangible operational results, and to build and continuously improve the organization.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead efforts in designing, implementing, and maintaining clients' network infrastructures across their Baltimore/Washington Locations.
- Analyze system requirements and lead design, development, and implementation activities.
- Incorporate new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations.
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software components, including firewalls and switches.
- Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve network issues and vulnerabilities.
- Manage network documentation, including:
- Network diagrams
- Configurations
- Standard operating procedures
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers, assisting with network-related issues and inquiries.
- Create and update documentation, including:
- Post-installation documentation packages
- Installation guides
- Configuration guides
- Technical reports
- Presentation materials
- Contribute to extended phases of monitoring and sustainment as capabilities are implemented in the Production environment.
- Contribute to process improvement efforts.
Required Qualifications:
· HS diploma or GED and 12 years of experience with network engineering support, or bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience with network engineering support, or master’s degree and 3 years of experience with network engineering support
· Expert-level knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and security principles.
· Engineer-level experience in configuring and troubleshooting network devices and technologies, including Extreme, Brocade, Arista, and Cisco networking devices.
· Expert understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
· Experience in implementing Enterprise Disaster Recovery Solutions.
· Excellent customer service
· Prior ticketing experience.
· Ability to obtain a Public Trust.
Desired Qualifications:
· Experience with zero-trust network design
· Experience with AWS and Azure
· Experience with scripting/automating
· Experience managing, deploying, and troubleshooting Linux server environments
· CompTIA Security +
· Cisco Certified Network Professional Security (CCNA Security)
· Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
· Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
· Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
