Mactores is looking for a Software Engineer with proficiency in Java, Spring, and Hibernate to participate in the migration project from Oracle to PostgreSQL. The ideal candidate should possess a robust understanding of Java, Spring, and Hibernate, with hands-on experience in developing large-scale Java web applications.

What you will do?

    • Contribute to the migration efforts from Oracle to PostgreSQL by migrating the application code. 
    • Rewrite the existing Java, Spring, and Hibernate applications to connect to PostgreSQL.
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including database administrators, system architects, and business stakeholders, to ensure seamless migration and integration with the application.
    • Identify and implement strategies to optimize database and application performance post-migration.
    • Conduct thorough code reviews, unit testing, and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
    • Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to address any migration-related issues and ensure a smooth transition.

What are we looking for?

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
    • 4+ years of experience as a Software Developer with a focus on Java development.
    • Strong understanding of Java, Spring, and Hibernate.
    • 3+ years of experience in developing and maintaining large-scale Java web applications.
    • Familiarity with agile methodologies and the software development lifecycle.
    • Leadership skills with the ability to mentor and lead junior developers.
    • Proficient in troubleshooting, bug fixing, and optimizing application performance.
    • Effective communication and collaboration skills in a team-oriented environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality software solutions.
    • Proven track record of writing clear and comprehensive technical documentation.

The Path to Joining the Mactores Team
At Mactores, our recruitment process is structured around three distinct stages:

Pre-Employment Assessment: 
You will be invited to participate in a series of pre-employment evaluations to assess your technical proficiency and suitability for the role.

Managerial Interview: The hiring manager will engage with you in multiple discussions, lasting anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, to assess your technical skills, hands-on experience, leadership potential, and communication abilities.
