Reporting to the VPHR Business Partner, the Director HR Business Partner supports assigned business groups that are complex in nature and develops and implements HR strategies that align with the organization's business objectives
 
The HRBP serves as a consultant to managers and employees on human resource-related issues and acts as an employee champion and change agent. Working closely with cross-functional teams and leaders to provide HR services that support staffing, employee development, talent management, employee relations and compensation. The HRBP collaborates with other HR functions and will operate as a credible expert and advisor to leaders
 
Position Responsibilities:
 
Establish trusted, collaborative, responsive, and influential relationships with leaders across the organization, understanding their strategies, priorities, and goals. Utilize this business knowledge to shape HR programs and priorities
 
Drives effective workforce planning, talent acquisition, employee relations, employee engagement and retention, learning & development, and succession planning
 
Provide coaching to leaders, enhancing management and leadership abilities and relationships among teams and individuals
 
Plays a key role in training and implementing performance management programs and appraisal systems to drive a high-performance culture
 
Consults management and employees on employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and compliance with employment laws
 
Operate with an action-oriented approach in partnership with other HR functions to implement various HR programs responding to the dynamic needs of the team
 
Continually assess culture and employee engagement. Identify relevant solutions that address issues and improve engagement and retention to build and maintain a culture that is consistent with Madrigal’s values
 
Support HR function initiatives and projects on an ad hoc or as needed basis
 
Qualifications and Skills
 
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management (or related field) is required. Graduate degree highly preferred
 
Minimum 10 years of progressive human resources business partner experience, including organizational effectiveness/change management, learning and development, and talent management
 
Experience in building or supporting a biotech or pharmaceutical Commercial organization required
 
Knowledge and expertise in organizational design, change management, workforce planning, talent management, executive coaching, leadership development, performance management, employee engagement, workforce planning, HR systems
 
Proven customer-centric focus: ability to influence culture and create alignment between business goals, behaviors, and compensation systems that drive performance
 
Strong consultative style with proven experience supporting all levels of employees and management
 
Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
 
Highly organized with a strong attention to detail, clarity, accuracy and conciseness
 
Ability to understand business context and leverage relevant data, interpret what the data means and what story it tells
 
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
 
 Ability to travel 25%
