Role Summary:
The Sr/Exec Director, Clinical Medical Experts provides support to shape and build grp of clinical medical experts in medical affairs.. The Sr/Exec Director, Clinical Medical is accountable for being a highly engaged and productive member a small group of NASH disease experts with strong clinical and applied industry experience to serve as internal experts for the entire organization. Importantly, the Sr/Exec Director, Clinical Medical is accountable for the integration into and support of the rest of medical affairs – field and headquarters, US and rest of world – and with other functions in Madrigal to include clinical development, regulatory affairs, marketing and market access. The Sr/Exec Director, Clinical Medical will manage the inevitable competing priorities they will confront as a member of clinical NASH experts (hepatologists/gastroenterologists) to ensure the group is doing the highest value work to support Madrigal’s strategies.
Primary Activities:
Organizational Scientific and Clinical Expertise Support:
Communicates scientific information in a balanced and highly credible manner to external stakeholders
Contribute insights to the global medical affairs leadership team and the cross-functional
Commercial/Medical leadership team regarding clinical, health outcomes and real world evidence gaps
Actively participate in internal or external trade, professional organizations, academic or regulatory working teams on matters that impact field medical affairs operations
Medical Affairs Research:
Actively participate in the Investigator Initiated Research program at Madrigal
Actively participate in the Managed Access or Early Access Program at Madrigal
Actively participate in the Registry program at Madrigal in conjunction with HEOR and Clinical Development
Actively work with HEOR on other real-world data generation projects
Medical Affairs Operational Areas:
Provide support to Medical Information team on development of Standard Response Documents
Provide review support for all medical content review and finalization
Skill Requirements:
Minimum:
Physician (MD/DO or equivalent) with strong liver clinical experience, including NASH
Hepatologist or gastroenterologist preferred with significant liver and NASH experience
Pharma experience preferred – medical affairs and/or clinical development
Significant knowledge of NASH – disease, patient identification, current thought leaders, guidelines and practice patterns
Track record of developing excellent personnel and teams
Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and oral), analytical, and results oriented project management skills
Drug regulatory experience helpful but not required
Possess a thorough understanding of all US compliance guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industry and field medical roles
Highly ethical and with strong compliance record
Ability to manage others through change, demonstrating poise under pressure and motivational leadership
