Associate Director, Operations FP&A
Business Partnering: Serve as the financial business partner to the R&D/Medical organization: including Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Medical Affairs, Clinical/R&D, and CMC/Supply Chain. Business case development, decision support, resource allocation scenarios, variance analysis, supporting management and board level reporting for CMO group
Forecasting/Budgeting: Lead and manage all budgeting (annual), forecasting (quarterly + ad hoc), and long range planning for the R&D / Medical Affairs / CMC teams. This includes clinical study modeling as well as Supply Chain / COGS & Inventory.
Expense Management & Accruals: Responsible for contract review & approval, Purchase Order management and maintenance, developing and ensuring accurate month end expense accruals.
Management Reporting: Work with finance and operational leadership to develop and continuously improve management reporting capabilities, with a focus on delivering actionable insights. This includes reporting monthly budget vs. actuals, maintaining up to date full year forecast (including between quarterly forecasting periods) with good visualizations, and developing and maintaining executive level dashboards.
Ad Hoc Support: Support finance leadership on any ad hoc needs including modeling exercises, Business Development and Investor Relations needs. Also support the business partners with any operational needs where the FP&A skillset adds value.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
8+ years relevant finance & accounting experience / 3+ years FP&A experience
2+ years Pharmaceutical / Biotech experience required
Clinical / R&D experience preferred
Supply Chain / COGS modeling preferred
High/Expert level Excel knowledge, skill, and speed
Excellent verbal & written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels of management
Superior planning and prioritization abilities
Good understanding of US GAAP accounting standards
Experience learning and working with financial systems (ERP, FP&A software)
