Reporting to the VP, People and Talent Acquisition the Director of Human Resources will play a critical role in the organizational growth and development of Madrigal’s US Commercial Organization. This individual will work closely with business leaders to build a world class NASH Commercial organization focused on the United States market. The Director’s primary responsibility is to provide organizational level HR leadership, direction, and operational management to drive the strategic and operational execution of a world class HR function in alignment with the needs of the business.

Responsibilities
 
Work with US Commercial leaders to understand core capabilities needed to drive business results, and translate into actionable selection, performance management and developmental programs for all Commercial teams
 
Develop talent selection methodology and tools to support the organizational build across all Commercial functions
 
Provide ongoing support to business leaders by serving as a partner in both business and people related matters
 
Utilize high level of consulting skills to influence, coach, and provide feedback to employees at all levels
 
Partner with US Commercial leadership to build and maintain a culture that is consistent with Madrigal’s values, drives performance, and attracts and retains top talent
 
Play a key role in designing, training, and implementing performance management programs within the organization
 
Work with the Commercial Leadership Team to design and implement leadership and management development training programs, and succession planning
 
Develop and implement programs for improvement of organization’s talent practices, policies and procedures on employment matters
 
Develop and implement specialized compensation programs for US Commercial functions based on market practices and in alignment with Madrigal’s compensation strategy and programs
 
Operate with an action-oriented approach knowing how to measure the results of various HR programs and responding to the dynamic needs of the team

Function as the expert on organizational issues and serve as a trusted advisor and business partner to Commercial leadership team
 
Support HR function initiatives and projects on an ad hoc or as needed basis


Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management (or related field) is required. Graduate degree highly preferred
 
Minimum 10 years of progressive human resources business partner experience, including organizational effectiveness/change management, learning and development, and talent management
 
Experience in building or supporting a biotech or pharmaceutical Commercial organization required
 
Proven experience in the development and implementation of HR initiatives is required
 
Strong business acumen
 
Proven customer-centric focus: ability to influence culture and create alignment between business goals, behaviors, and compensation systems that drive performance
 
Strong consultative style with proven experience supporting all levels of employees and management
 
Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
 
Highly organized with a strong attention to detail, clarity, accuracy and conciseness
 
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
