We’re currently seeking a Floating Assistant Teacher to join our passionate team at our Wilton location. This vital role supports multiple classrooms, offering flexibility and variety while ensuring consistency in high-quality child care. You'll thrive in this role if you have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 1-2 years in a classroom setting is preferred
- Daycare experience in a center-based, private, or public school setting
- An energetic approach to learning and an positive attitude
- Curiosity, creativity, and a strong team-focused mindset
Some requirements for this role include:
- Ability to work the following schedule: Monday through Friday with availability to work until 6:00 pm daily
- Ability to spend extended periods of time on the floor with the children
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to stand up to 90% of the workday
- Attentiveness, strong time management, and strong collaboration skills
As a Float Aide, you will be responsible for:
- Providing substitute coverage when teachers are either out sick, completing planning time, or on a break
- Assisting classroom teachers with opening/closing routines and classroom preparation
- Supporting child care throughout the day, including preparing lesson materials, engaging in free play, outdoor supervision, snack and lunch help, bathroom/diapering support, and nap time assistance
- Encouraging children’s participation with age-appropriate, interactive activities
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the daycare center
- Attending monthly staff meetings and completing required professional development in early childhood education
- Building positive relationships with students and families

$16 - $22 an hour
