Job Description
 
Magnet Forensics is on the move again and growing our Software Engineer team! We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who naturally takes initiative, a true “self-starter” when it comes to modern technology, and most of all, truly understands the behind-the-scenes of creating great software. In this role, the ideal candidate will be strong technically, have a great desire to bring in & implement new ideas, and demonstrated experience taking the reins with projects. You will have an opportunity to work with innovative features on a best-in-class digital forensics product disrupting the industry.

Responsibilities

    • Working with a small tight-knit team of Software Engineers building out complex initiatives.
    • Architect & develop NodeJS + PostgreSQL + GraphQL backend functionality.
    • Architect & develop functionality on the typescript data pipeline.
    • Architect & develop features & functionality on the react frontend.
    • Move fast & break things. 
    • Reverse engineer SQLite database formats from other applications

Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience building web applications.
    • Formal or informal experience leading initiatives
    • Business minded & interested in leadership of technical initiatives.
    • Knowledge of TypeScript (or JavaScript)
    • Knowledge of GraphQL
    • Knowledge of React / Apollo Client
    • Knowledge of NodeJS (we’re using Fastify) /Apollo Server
    • Knowledge of ETLs
    • Knowledge of Cloud

Nice To Have

    • Contribution to open-source software projects.
    • Formal or informal leadership experience.
    • Experience in a startup-type environment
    • Experience building web apps from the ground up (side project or job)
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering.
