The opportunity

MainStreet is looking for a Payment Operations Associate to help drive and scale critical elements of our payment operations function. You’ll be an integral part of the team and focus on daily operations, support, customer inquiries, transaction processing, and maintaining clerical tasks. This is an opportunity to influence and support integral processes that power our business and impact our customer journey and experience.

You’ll report directly to our Director of Core Operations.

What you'll do

    • Drive all aspects of payment issues, working with engineering, finance, and operations to troubleshoot and resolve in a systematic and timely fashion
    • Escalate inquiries as needed and resolve-transaction-related issues relative to billing, collections, and settlements
    • Design and monitor reports to capture insights through leading and lagging indicators; maintain accurate documentation and present analysis to stakeholders 
    • Automate routine work through sophisticated tooling systems to address recurring issues
    • Define and execute operational processes, standards, and best practices that work flawlessly and minimize firefighting
    • Bootstrap new initiatives and scale processes over time

What we're looking for

    • 2+ years of relevant experience in Payment or Finance Operations
    • Analytical thinker with a high attention to detail
    • Strong due diligence and task management skills
    • Affinity for data, capturing insights, and telling a story through reporting to foresee and proactively address challenges
    • Ability to iterate and implement processes and workflows independently with minimal guidance and oversight
    • Ability to work independently and communicate over the phone and with video chat software, such as Zoom
    • Thrives in a fast-paced, complex environment with a willingness to learn on the job and take on tasks as needed
    • Strong cross-functional collaborator with excellent communication skills

    • Base salary range for this position is $50,000 - $77,000 and is based upon years of experience that is commensurate with the level of the position in addition to location
    • Bonus that is commensurate with the level of the position
