Mama Money is a growth stage fintech startup working to help migrant workers in South Africa send money home. Since 2015 we have been providing reliable remittances, at a socially fair price, to those that need it most. 

Mama HQ is in beautiful Cape Town, South Africa. We are 122 people strong (and counting) from 19 countries across Africa, Asia, the UK, and Europe. We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join the Office Operation Department. We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated Office Manager to take control of the day-to-day office operations. This person will manage all office activities, provide managerial support to our kitchen operations team and provide general administrative support to the organisation.


As the Office Manager you will:

    • Be the key contact person for any Office Related matters
    • Maintain the office condition & ensure our offices are in pristine condition at all times.
    • Coordinate with internal and external parties to implement changes required by periodic building renovations. 
    • Manage mobile phone contracts and administration
    • Organise all Mama Money assets, including management of insurance portfolio
    • Oversee Mama Money’s fleet management
    • Provide office support to all departments in Mama Money, including the executive team 
    • Manage the kitchen and cleaning teams
    • Ensure the office meets all health and safety, environmental, and general care of duty legislation
    • Manage the relationship and service level agreements with service providers & landlord
    • Manage third-party access to our offices
    • Assist with office design and logistics
    • Assist in funnelling & reporting technical issues timeously
    • Assist in the onboarding of new team members
    • Maintain stock levels and allocation of required office supplies 
    • Facilitate & organise company events for teams and agents
    • Support teams in arranging team-building events
    • Arrange travel and accommodation for teams 
    • Oversee hospitality and event catering
    • Manage our security team & building access

About you:

    • You thrive within a high-pressure environment & juggle multiple things at once efficiently. 
    • You are honest and ethical with high levels of integrity and confidentiality
    • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • You have the highest attention to detail
    • You have good leadership skills and ability to motivate staff
    • You have excellent customer service skills 
    • You must have a car and a valid licence 
    • You must have a background in executive PA or office administration.

It would be a bonus if:

    • You have a background in project management, office administration, Basic IT knowledge & personnel management.
