Description
Mammoth is seeking a Scientist with expertise in genome editing in cultured mammalian cells. The ideal candidate will have direct experience developing CRISPR systems; a strong background in genome editing and/or genome modulation in mammalian cells is essential. Candidates must be comfortable collaborating with others and prioritizing time, agendas, and projects to accomplish goals. 

Responsibilities

    • Initiate, direct, and perform experiments to advance the application of newly discovered CRISPR systems in mammalian cells
    • Develop CRISPR systems for genome editing
    • Interface with protein screening and biochemistry teams
    • Manage direct reports and collaborate with others on the team
    • Stay current in the field by participating in educational opportunities and reading relevant publications.
    • Think creatively about genome editing technologies

Requirements

    • Ph.D. in relevant field with 3+years relevant experience
    • Strong background in tissue culture, molecular biology and cell engineering
    • Demonstrated experience with CRISPR in primary human cells using AAV and/or RNP delivery
    • Strong communication, presentation and data analysis skills
    • Highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with the ability to think creatively

Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with CRISPR spacer screens
    • Experience with NGS to characterize CRISPR editing outcomes and off-targets
    • Experience working with primary human cell lines
    • Experience with viral vector delivery such as AAV
    • Liquid handling automation experience
