KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Design and construct plasmids for various applications using molecular biology techniques
    • Develop and optimize in-house processes for plasmid production, purification, and quality control
    • Perform hands-on laboratory work to produce plasmids at scale, ensuring consistency and quality
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the development of CRISPR-based therapeutics and diagnostics
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to plasmid production and purification processes
    • Implement and maintain documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and batch records
    • Stay current with advancements in plasmid design, production, and purification techniques

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related field
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in plasmid design, production, and purification in an industrial or academic setting
    • Proficiency in molecular biology techniques such as PCR, cloning, and DNA sequencing
    • Experience with various methods of plasmid purification, including column chromatography and ultrafiltration
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience in mRNA or AAV drug development and/or platform development
    • Experience with CRISPR-based technologies is highly desirable 
    • Knowledge of GMP/GLP regulations
    • Familiarity with automation and high-throughput techniques for plasmid production
    • Experience in scaling up production processes for commercialization
    • Publication record demonstrating expertise in plasmid design and production

Base Salary Range: $100,000 - $108,000

The listed base salary range is for Mammoth employees in the Bay Area. Actual base salary will be determined by geographic work location, relevant professional experience, applicable skills, and internal equity. The base salary range for those working remotely outside of the San Francisco Bay Area may differ and will be determined by industry market data for the role and specific region.
