Marcus & Millichap’s Brown Retail Group is seeking a dependable individual with prior experience in real estate financial analysis and valuation. This is a full-time position working directly with the top retail investment sales team in the Seattle office, of which last year transacted nearly $65,000,000 in sales in seven states and over $100,000,000 in evaluations.
Excellent analytical and professional business writing skills are required. Candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or Real Estate. Superior computer skills are a must; candidate should possess an extremely high comfort level with Microsoft Excel and have advanced excel financial modeling capabilities.
The Financial Analyst will provide financial and analytical support services, which will include preparing proposals/opinions of value, data input, underwriting property values, performing market research, both in and outside the office to evaluate real estate, analyzing comparable properties and sales trends and preparing financial analysis for presentation to clients. Professionalism and attention to detail are musts.
Most underwriting and proposal assignments will range from $2M to $20M in deal size but will also include larger institutional transactions ($25M+) across Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. Approximately 75% of our business is selling single-tenant net leased assets with 25% being multi-tenant shopping centers.
The Financial Analyst will be a resourceful contributor to the team who can operate in a fast paced and demanding environment, take direction, and multi-task under tight deadlines. Projecting a friendly and professional demeanor while having fun is mandatory for this position.
NOTE: This is NOT a remote work from home position. Applicants must be available to work in the Seattle office.

Duties will include:

    • Review financial statements and operating information
    • Prepare financial models for commercial real estate valuation
    • Gather and research market comparables
    • Call and/or shop market surveys and comparables
    • Track market trends such as rent growth and development
    • Help prepare marketing and promotional materials
    • Respond to requests for property information
    • Database Management

Job Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree, or higher
    • Financial analysis and underwriting
    • Proficient in excel, cash flow modeling, quantitative data analytics, building and using complex financial models
    • Exceptional analytical skills
    • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Must be highly organized and detail oriented
    • Works well under deadlines
    • Creative self-starter
    • Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel
    • Ability to handle sensitive material and maintain the highest level of confidentiality
    • Have a team-player attitude
