Marcus & Millichap is seeking a Research Analyst to join the local Toronto office to lead the commercial real estate market analytics and intelligence initiatives on a local level. The position will oversee the gathering, evaluation, and interpretation of various economic and commercial real estate information sources, then translate the synthesized interpretation into a variety of reports, analytics and presentations. This position reports to the Regional Manager in the Toronto office.

Responsibilities

    • Interpret data from a variety of sources to assess the market's economic environment and to evaluate commercial real estate opportunities and trends
    • Author reports on market trends and behavior, offering investors and agents value-added services and insights into market performance
    • Develop analysis and reports to enhance client understanding of market trends and investment opportunities
    • Directly contributes to real estate proposals over $10,000,000
    • May aid in special business development projects aimed at supporting broker and client growth
    • May provide financial feedback on potential property sales
    • Translate data and information into clear, professional reports and analyses that offer insightful interpretation for both investors and sales agents
    • Source market comps to assist in the production of proposals and pitch book presentations
    • Provide local specific area information and data for social media snippets for agents and social media

Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Economics, Finance or Business preferred
    • 1+ years of professional analysis experience in commercial real estate or business writing
    • An understanding of commercial real estate analytics.
    • Exceptional time management and project management skills, with the ability to lead multiple complex projects
    • Strong research and writing skills (AP Style)
    • Knowledge of all relevant computer platforms, including, but not limited to, the Microsoft Office suite, including exceptional Excel skills and comfort with various CRE industry database and analytics platforms, including CoStar, Altus Insights, StatCan and CMHC.
    • Strong communication/presentation skills.
    • Proficient in MS Office and Excel
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to complete projects accurately and on time
    • Communicate and collaborate in a team setting
