The role of the Research Analyst is to support and further the macroeconomic research and investment manager due diligence conducted by the alternatives research team. The Research Analyst will work closely with directors and senior analysts to provide market research, investment due diligence, analysis, and investment recommendations to clients.
Responsibilities
- Underwrite private equity funds for Marquette clients, conducting extensive due diligence on direct funds for buyout, mezzanine, venture capital, and other related sectors within the private equity universe
- Write reports on investment managers for internal and client use
- Present research/manager due diligence at internal and external meetings
- Attend weekly Investment Committee meetings
- Represent Marquette at investment conferences and annual meetings
- Develop quantitative and qualitative analysis to support original Marquette research
- Analyze overall market factors influencing the asset classes
- Serve as a resource for consultants
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 5-10 years investment related experience and progress towards CFA/CAIA
- Knowledge of the private markets industry and managers preferred
- Strong client service experience and ability to present information effectively and professionally
- Strong attention to detail and highly organized with ability to work independently to meet deadlines
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and react to change positively
- Strong Microsoft Office application skills with the ability to quickly learn new software applications
- Critical thinking skills: a self-starter with excellent follow-up abilities
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills
$90,000 - $130,000 a year
The starting salary offer will vary based on the applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. This position is also eligible to participate in the annual incentive plan, which includes a target bonus of 0 - 15% of base salary.
