Position Summary
Mashgin is seeking a sharp, detail-oriented, and proactive Hardware Operations Specialist to support the day-to-day execution of our hardware programs. This is a unique opportunity to work on next-generation product development, and gain exposure across hardware operations, hardware engineering, and early-stage productization.
You will help keep our hardware execution engine running — managing contract manufacturing (CM) communications, inventory tracking, shipping logistics, prototype coordination, and more. If you’re a recent new graduate in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or similar), and you're eager to learn how real-world hardware products go from prototype to production, this is the role for you.
You Will Be
- Owning day-to-day hardware operations coordination including follow-ups with contract manufacturers, vendors, and internal teams
- Managing our inventory management across the U.S. supply chain including: stock levels, transfers, shortage resolutions, etc
- Tracking shipping & logistics to ensure parts and builds move smoothly and are on time
- Providing hands-on support with early prototypes and hardware bring-up (under guidance)
- Assisting in NPI activities such as build planning, BOM tracking, or test support
- Owning small projects and tasks delegated by the lead engineer — and following through independently
- Being the "first to act" when urgent tasks or blockers arise — communicating early, and taking initiative
- Documenting and improving basic workflows (inventory, vendor comms, build kits, etc.)
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 0–2 years of experience in hardware operations, manufacturing, or engineering support
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail — you care about getting things right
- Clear communicator — you’ll represent the team with vendors and partners
- Comfortable handling logistics, spreadsheet updates, emails, and lab support work
- Curious, humble, and highly proactive — you ask, you follow up, you drive forward
- Able to work independently once given direction; strong sense of accountability
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with hardware contract manufacturers
- Exposure to prototyping, soldering, BOM tools, or early-stage hardware
- Familiarity with tools like Google Sheets, Slack, Notion, or MRP systems
- Interest in long-term growth into HW program management or engineering ops
- Strong technical ability: you should be comfortable doing things like installing drivers, diagnosing system issues, and building PCs using off-the-shelf components.
