Position Summary:
The Regional Facilities Manager will oversee, and in some cases, perform preventive and routine maintenance and repairs on buildings and related infrastructure systems; including but not limited to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and general building repairs and other duties as assigned. The Regional Facilities Manager will work closely with the Facilities Department leadership and school-based Directors of Operations and have dotted line authority over an assigned group of Building Engineers to ensure the reliable operation of all building systems, physical appearance and plant operations, of all facilities. The position reports to the Senior Director of Facilities Management and will be based in out NST.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting the Senior Director of Facilities Management and Capital Planning in developing and executing the vision for the department
- Supporting and providing training to Stationary Building Engineers at school locations
- Performing quality control inspections on assigned work and maintenance requests at schools
- Performing operational checks to ensure equipment is operating within parameters and at maximum efficiencies
- Scheduling weekly or biweekly meetings with school-based operations and facilities team members
- Responding to emergencies during day, evening and weekend hours as needed
- Executing emergency procedures on building systems and sub-systems
- Support temporarily at schools when a Stationary Building Engineer is absent, or on vacation as needed
- Providing regular project reports/updates to the Senior Facilities Director
- Managing relationships with vendors or independent contractors
- Maintaining equipment, operational data and history of all building systems
- Ordering equipment and supplies as needed for the network wide maintenance of the all buildings
- Assisting in coordinating activities of employees in maintenance to ensure the effective and efficient utilization of staff, materials and equipment
- Ensuring compliance with all OSHA, EPA and other local, state, and federal government regulatory agencies
Qualifications:
- Excellent project management skills
- Outstanding at managing large teams
- Ability to read and interpret building plans and blueprints
- Knowledge of EMS / CMMS systems
- Ability to communicate and cooperatively work with a diverse group of people
- Excellent verbal, written and communication skills
- Ability to effectively work independently or with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational and in establishing priorities
- Must work well under pressure in a multi-disciplinary, multi-tasking environment with aggressive deadlines
Education and Experience:
- High School, Trade or Vocational School graduate
- Must have either a Philadelphia Class “A” boiler or New Jersey Black Seal license and/or be working towards receiving license
- Experience in (1) or more building related trades such as HVAC, Electric, Plumbing, and Carpentry
- Seven or more years of related experience and/or training in a facilities maintenance leadership position
- Experience working on complex equipment components and computer systems
- Preferred experience in a multi-site, educational environment such as K-12 or University settings
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to physically perform the essential duties of the role – either on-site or remotely, and to work in the environmental conditions required, such as: traveling to network campuses; maneuvering in office spaces (including standing, walking, sitting for long periods of time, speaking loudly and clearly, seeing and hearing things both near and far away); stooping, kneeling, reaching file cabinets/shelves; fine finger and hand manipulation in use of computer, chalkboard, dry erase, &/or projectors; filing, faxing, scanning, coping, typing, mailing, and making phone calls; sitting for up to two (2) hours looking at a computer monitor, using a keyboard/mouse, and typing.
Salary and Bonus Information:
- Regional Facilities Manager's at Mastery can expect a starting salary between $78,000 - $84,520, based on education and experience, with opportunities for growth as your career progresses.
