Since the release of Pairs in October 2012, we have helped to create opportunities for many users to find partnership and marriage. Pairs offers the opportunity to find an ideal partner that matches one's own values through various search features and a well-developed MyTag. Everyday, we receive many reports of successful matches from across Japan and from overseas. It is our hope that more and more opportunities for wonderful relationships will be created, which inspires us to improve our service every day.
This time, Pairs (ペアーズ) is looking for a skillful Performance Marketing Manager who can contribute to our business growth by taking responsibilities in performance marketing which highly requires analytical skill set and execution proficiency in performance marketing or growth marketing.
You will work closely with several stakeholders, such as the brand marketing team, accounting team, legal team, and external partners. Pairs Growth marketing team pursue further business growth by implementing several initiatives with a data-driven approach. You will be one of the key contributors by driving our digital marketing including promotions, campaigns on multiple online platforms.
Technical requirements include HTML, XML and Excel and other marketing tools. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, capable of handling multiple projects at once, able to take direction and work well with multiple teams. In addition to having first-class written and verbal communication skills, this Marketing Manager will be able to prioritize to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

To be successful in this role, you should find yourself nodding in agreement with the following :
- Strategy Development: Craft and implement media strategies to drive user acquisition and revenue
- Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze assigned metrics to measure the effectiveness of growth initiatives and campaigns
- Market Research: Identify emerging market trends and stay updated on industry shift
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with the marketing, product, operations, and tech teams to drive growth initiatives and optimize user funnels.
- Global operation management: Work closely with the global team and exercise effective collaborations. Your working partner might be on shore or offshore, but you will utilize all of your available assets to deliver results.
- People management: Not necessarily the experience of management of your direct report, but professional experiences on people management is ideal.
- Budget Management: Design initiatives to boost user engagement and lifetime value.
- Campaign Design and Execution: Ideate, develop, and execute innovative test campaigns to drive growth. Analyze results to refine and optimize future campaigns.
- Ability to coordinate projects across functional teams, including online marketing and operations. Global project management or experiences are more favorable.
- Act as the ‘business owner’ for growth marketing, understanding and reporting on campaigns, along with responsibility for driving projects and promotions to achieve business objectives
- Reporting: all of your projects should be presented to appropriate stakeholders/ leaderships at an appropriate timing in order to gain business attention and/or business advice to make your project successful
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
- Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
- Experience with multiple marketing or project management tools, such as Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)
- Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional programs or marketing campaigns from concept to completion
- Experience managing and measuring marketing performance in various channels
- Native level in Japanese and business level
- Business level in English (Global marketing experience is plus)
- Action oriented with a ‘roll up your sleeve approach’
- High motivation in self-learning and continuously demonstrate its steep learning curve
- Challenging, proactive, and energetic to keep questioning and improving status quo in your daily business
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing external partners to develop marketing programs
- Experience presenting ideas to various levels of an organization to gain support for initiatives
