As a Manager, People Partner, you will lead a dynamic team of People Business Partners to provide strategic HR support and leadership across the engineering organization. Your role will be pivotal in driving organizational change, crafting talent management strategies, and encouraging an inclusive environment aligned with what we value.

Where you’ll work: This is a hybrid role and requires in-office collaboration two days per week. This position is located in Palo Alto, CA.

Key Responsibilities

    • Leadership and Strategy: Lead and grow a team of People Business Partners, setting clear objectives and benchmarks. Drive strategic HR initiatives that align with the organization’s objectives and support sustainable growth.
    • Senior Relationship Management: Build and maintain trust-based relationships with leadership. Gain deep insights into their strategic needs and provide proactive support on critical people decisions.
    • Change Management: Facilitate HR related projects, ensuring they are strategically aligned with business goals while mitigating impacts on employees and business leaders.
    • Employee Advocacy and Support: Serve as a principal advisor for employees on employment-related issues, benefits, leaves, and adherence to company policies.
    • Performance and Talent Management: Improve the talent management framework by coaching managers in performance reviews, feedback delivery, and career development to promote an environment of continuous improvement.
    • Compensation Analysis and Strategy: Support compensation strategies and adjustments by analyzing market trends and internal equity to ensure attractive and fair compensation practices.
    • Leadership Development: Implement comprehensive leadership development programs to improve capabilities at all levels and uphold our core values and leadership principles.
    • Organizational Design and Planning: Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and department leaders on workforce planning and organizational design, ensuring alignment with long-term business goals.
    • Recruitment and Candidate Experience: Partner with recruiters to improve the candidate experience throughout the recruitment cycle.
    • Engagement and Retention: Work with the Talent Management/Learning & Development team to translate People Survey insights into actionable strategies. 
    • Employee Relations and Compliance: Guide leaders on employee relations, lead investigations with the Legal team, and ensure organizational compliance with all relevant employment laws. 
    • Benefits Team Partnership: Work closely with the Benefits team to optimize employee benefits programs and handle extended PTO requests optimally. 
    • DEI Team Partnership: Collaborate with the DEI team to embed diversity, equity, and inclusion practices throughout HR initiatives and organizational policies. 
    • Immigration Team Partnership: Partner with the Immigration team to handle work visa applications and support international assignments and work-abroad programs. 
    • Flexible Work and Mobility Management: Help develop and lead policies that support flexible work arrangements, including remote work, temporary international work, and extended PTO. Ensure these policies and programs are aligned with strategic objectives, while maintaining compliance with global employment standards.

Required Qualifications

    • Experience: 7+ years of HR experience at a tech start-up or rapidly scaling company, with experience providing strategic business partnering to Sr. leaders and 3+ years as a people leader
    • Education: Bachelor's or master’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Human Resources, Psychology, or a related field. 
    • Skills: Expertise in HR domains such as performance management, organizational design, talent management, and employee relations. Proficient with Google Suite and Microsoft Office, with experience in HRIS like Workday. 
    • Abilities: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, adept at maintaining confidentiality, and capable of leading multiple relationships.

Desirable Attributes

    • Experience directly supporting software development leadership and teams. 
    • Strong emotional intelligence and ability to navigate sophisticated organizational dynamics. 
    • Familiarity with sophisticated talent management tools and methodologies; including 9-box calibration assessments. 
    • Curiosity about encouraging a collaborative, fast-paced work environment.

$117,000 - $140,000 a year
Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary range is reflective of a position based in Palo Alto, CA. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
