Hinge is the dating app designed to be deleted

In today’s digital world, singles are so focused on sending likes and looking through profiles that they’re not actually building meaningful connections and finding relationships. Hinge is on a mission to change that by designing the most effective app experience. On Hinge, there are no rules, timers, or games. Instead, you’ll have unique conversations over the text, photos, and audio you’ve shared on your profile. And it’s resonating with daters. Currently we’re setting up a date every two seconds.

About the Role

As the Senior PR Manager for LATAM, you’ll lead external storytelling efforts across Mexico and Brazil as we expand into the region for the first time. You’ll work closely with agency partners and internal teams to craft culturally relevant, earned media stories that position Hinge as the most trusted app for intentional dating. From launch through long-term market growth, you’ll drive coverage that connects with Gen Z, millennial women, and LGBTQIA+ communities. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic communicator with regional expertise and strong media instincts to help introduce — and grow — a mission-driven brand.

This position is open exclusively to Mexican citizens or permanent residents in Mexico who are legally authorized to work without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future.

Responsibilities

    • Lead Regional Comms Plans: Execute PR strategies to support Hinge’s launch and ongoing presence in Mexico and Brazil, aligned with global positioning and local cultural relevance.
    • Localize Story Development: Shape and adapt earned media narratives that reflect the dating culture, values, and voices of Hinge’s target audience in LATAM.
    • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with global marketing, comms, research, product, and trust & safety teams, as well as LATAM agency partners, to support campaigns and storytelling moments.
    • Drive Media Outreach: Build and maintain strong relationships with key editors, writers, and outlets across Mexico and Brazil; secure earned media coverage across lifestyle, consumer tech, and business press.
    • Support Executive Comms: Prepare briefing materials, talking points, and regional messaging for spokespeople and subject matter experts participating in LATAM media engagements.
    • Monitor and Elevate Trends: Keep a pulse on cultural and media trends, competitive landscape, and relevant local narratives to inform PR strategy and uncover timely story angles.
    • Write for Regional Impact: Draft and localize press releases, pitches, media FAQs, and other PR materials in Spanish and/or Portuguese that reflect Hinge’s voice and mission.
    • Manage Inbound Media: Field, assess, and respond to LATAM press inquiries, coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely and thoughtful responses.
    • Coordinate Agency Workflow: Oversee LATAM agency activities, ensuring delivery of regular coverage tracking, biweekly updates, and monthly reporting that identifies results and opportunities.
    • Champion Local Expertise: Share ongoing insights into the LATAM dating culture, regulatory environment, and safety conversations to help Hinge build brand trust and user connection across the region.

What We’re Looking For

    • 5+ Years Experience: In-house or agency experience in public relations, communications, or journalism, with a strong track record in consumer-facing storytelling. Experience working in or across Mexico and/or Brazil is required.
    • Culturally Fluent: Deep understanding of the cultural nuances, media environments, and dating norms in LATAM, especially among Gen Z, millennial women, and LGBTQIA+ communities.
    • Strong Editorial Instincts: You can spot a compelling story, shape it for press, and craft narratives that resonate across borders.
    • Media Relations Expertise: Demonstrated success securing earned coverage in Mexico and/or Brazil across lifestyle, tech, business, and culture-focused media.
    • Exceptional Writing Skills: Clear, concise, and adaptable writing in Spanish and/or Portuguese, with the ability to localize Hinge’s tone and message for different audiences.
    • Digitally & Socially Aware: Actively engaged with internet culture, emerging platforms (like podcasts and digital-first outlets), and the evolving ways people connect and consume information.
    • Cross-Functional Communicator: Collaborative, responsive, and comfortable partnering with global and local teams, agency partners, and subject matter experts.
    • Self-Starter: Proactive, dependable, and confident in owning regional workstreams, making sound judgments, and moving projects forward independently.
    • Data-Informed Storytelling: Curious about trends, research, and behavioral insights and able to translate them into thoughtful, timely media angles, including how to elevate safety, inclusivity, and trust as part of Hinge’s brand story in LATAM.
    • Highly Organized: Able to manage multiple deadlines, track deliverables, and bring structure to fast-moving communications moments.
    • Mission-Aligned: Energized by Hinge’s purpose to build a less lonely world and eager to help tell stories that champion connection, empathy, and trust.
