About the Role

The Manager of Talent Development is a key leadership role within Matillion’s Talent & Organisational Development function, responsible for leading and executing transformational talent initiatives that drive organisational capability, performance, and engagement.

This role is pivotal in shaping and delivering large-scale talent development projects while ensuring the function stays ahead of emerging trends and innovations in the talent space. It will act as a strategic thought partner to the business, feeding in fresh ideas and designing impactful development solutions that align with Matillion’s high-performance culture and values.

As Matillion is a global company, this role must ensure that talent development programs adapt to the needs of different geographies, considering cultural nuances, regulatory differences, and regional business priorities to create impactful and scalable learning solutions.A strong data-driven approach is essential, leveraging metrics, feedback, and analytics to make great decisions, refine learning strategies, and demonstrate the impact and return on investment of talent development initiatives.

While this is a senior role with a broad remit, Matillion remains a scaling business, and hands-on involvement in training design, facilitation, and evaluation will always be a part of the job. The Talent Development Manager must be equally comfortable with strategic thinking and rolling up their sleeves to execute.

What you'll be doing:

    • Deliver high-impact, global talent development programs – from performance cycles to leadership development and top talent retention.
    • Champion Matillion’s values – embed them into every layer of learning, performance, and career development across the business.
    • Act as a strategic thought partner – providing expert insight and bringing fresh thinking on the latest talent trends and innovations.
    • Own the full L&D cycle – from needs analysis and design to delivery and evaluation, across a wide range of learning experiences.
    • Use data to drive decisions – evaluate impact, iterate programs, and demonstrate ROI on development initiatives.

What we're looking for:

    • Proven expertise in designing and delivering impactful L&D and leadership initiatives in a fast-moving, scaling environment.
    • A strategic thinker and hands-on executor – able to translate business needs into innovative and effective development programs.
    • Strong facilitator and communicator – confident influencing senior stakeholders and engaging cross-functional teams.
    • Experience embedding values and behaviours into learning, leadership, and performance frameworks.
    • Data-savvy mindset – with a track record of measuring impact and using insights to evolve learning strategies.
