The Patrick J McGovern Foundation (PJMF) is seeking an experienced and self-driven Technical Product Manager. This role sits within the Data Solutions team to help drive the vision and execution of AI-based product development and deployment. The charter of the Data Solutions team is to identify, develop and deploy strategic data and AI solutions, focused on unlocking opportunities and addressing broad challenges the social good sector is facing now, and in the near future. The Technical Product Manager is a key member of our team as they will work with engineers, data scientists, various cross-functional teams, partners and end-users to ensure success of the final AI product.
How you will make an impact:
- Work closely with partners and end-users to understand their difficulties and effectively define the problem areas, along with possible solutions
- Work closely with Director of Data Solutions to identify, assess, and prioritize product development timelines and deliverables
- Work with internal, cross-functional teams to address communications & outreach needs, additional resource needs, etc
- Define end-user needs, requirements and criteria for success
- Perform market research and ecosystem analysis on specific social sector needs and potential solutions that address those needs
- Create technical product requirements and specifications for engineers and scientists, along with user experience (UX) needs and backend requirements
- Identify data technologies, platforms, tools, and 3rd party integration needs for product
- Ensure development timelines are met based on rapid prototyping methodology
- Validate functional requirements of delivered product and ensure successful completion of QA/testing process
- Partner & end-user relationship management to define rollout schedule, training, onboarding, etc
- Develop and execute on successful deployment plan to partners and end-users
- Ensure overall end-user satisfaction and success and exit criteria is met
- Develop and manage appropriate maintenance, bug fix and feature request process
- Create system diagrams and documentation for various audiences as needed
What you will need to succeed:
- Experience - Strong technical background with solid understanding of software development principles and lifecycle.
- Technologies - Strong understanding and experience with various data solutions, platforms & technologies, database concepts, cloud providers, mobile app development needs, and programming languages. Experience with CI/CD, software bug tracking and feature request management, using tools like Jenkins, Jira, GitHub, etc.
- Communication - Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, engineers, partners and end-users. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences. Excellent technical writing and documentation skills
- Teamwork - Effective team player who understands the responsibility every individual brings to the table and how to encourage and drive results from each team member
- High Performance - Ability to work on multiple product development projects in various stages in the life cycle to ensure timely & successful delivery
- Results-oriented - Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong project management skills, self-driven to keep projects moving forward and creative in managing issues as they arise
- Cultural alignment - An advocate for social progress; interest in emerging technologies and their ability to advance societal outcomes
What we offer:
- Compensation – Anticipated starting salary range of $110,000 - $140,000, with flexibility based on experience
