We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager that will help upscale our existing accounting processes and department for our next stage of hypergrowth leading to a public offering. You will advise the Company on the revenue recognition implication of various product offerings in development, focusing on SAAS offerings. You will work closely with finance leadership and partner with members of various departments on ad-hoc, value-added projects. You will play an integral role in developing, implementing, and maintaining the Company’s financial accounting controls, processes, records, and systems. The ideal candidate for this position is a highly technical, skilled multi-tasker, reliable, committed to consistently meeting deadlines, and willing to "roll up their sleeves." Your responsibilities will evolve over time and initially are:

What you'll do:

    • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and yearly close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of all accounting financial information in accordance with GAAP; striving for a 5-day close 
    • Work cross-functionally with product, legal, and finance to understand and shape the revenue recognition (ASC 606) of new product offerings with a focus on subscription-based products
    • Drive process improvements and contribute to exciting accounting transformation projects to achieve scalability and efficiency across processes and workflows as we prepare to go public
    • Manage and prepare audit and tax filings and liaise with our external parties: auditors (Big 4), bank,  tax consultants, and technical consultants
    • Own the internal and external reporting process, including preparation/review of financial statements, bank monthly reporting package, and flux analysis
    • Research accounting guidance and formally document conclusions in memos for complex accounting transactions/topics, including accounting for product development costs that are both used internally and externally (ASC 350-40 vs ASC 985)
    • Handle special projects, including transition company from QBO to NetSuite, taking full responsibilities for the successful and timely completion of the project
    • Lead, coach, mentor, and train your team; take an active interest in their career and development and find ways to continue their growth and development.
    • Ensure all key internal controls over operations and financial reporting are in place and operating in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley rules and regulations in preparation for going public

What you'll need to have:

    • 5-7+ years experience in Accounting roles, experience in both Big 4 and private accounting preferred
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting Experience leading and developing a team of junior accountants
    • Exceptional understanding of GAAP and accounting principles, especially around ASC 606 and ASC 350-40 vs ASC 985Strong project management skills and ability to effectively prioritize work in a high-growth environment 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

    • CPA (or working towards) preferred
    • Advanced Excel skills, with proficiency using and creating Pivot Tables, Sumifs, and VLOOKUPPublic company and/or startup experience is a plus (Big 4 Experience preferred)Intermediate knowledge of NetSuite is a plus
    • Ability to be flexible and resourceful in response to changing priorities and needs
    • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
    • Enthusiastic, upbeat, and positive with the ability to stay calm in the face of uncertainty and hypergrowth
In accordance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected base salary range for this role in Colorado is $115,000  to $130,000.
This position may be eligible for additional compensation and benefits including bonus, health benefits; flexible spending account; retirement benefits; life insurance; paid time off (including PTO, paid sick leave, medical leave, floating holidays, and paid holidays); and parental leave and benefits. Actual compensation will be determined by experience and other factors permitted by law.
