Position Overview 
As the VP of Medical Affairs you are responsible for developing and executing an integrated Medical Affairs strategy for the company and its pipeline products. Working in partnership with cross-functional colleagues and external collaborators, the VP of Medical Affairs is responsible for  development of a scientific evidence strategy, development and implementation of the scientific  narrative through multiple channels including publications, congress activities, leading advisory boards, development of external strategic relationships with key opinion leaders, scientific collaborators and patient advocacy groups.
As a member of our Leadership Team, you will work closely with internal partners including Commercial, Product Development, Clinical, Applied Research, Regulatory, and Corporate Strategy. When the time is right, you will have the opportunity to build-out the Medical Affairs team from the ground up.
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and is a combination of salary and bonus potential. This position will be hybrid and mainly work out of the MedRhythms headquarters in Portland, Maine; however candidates based outside of Maine will be considered.

Responsibilities

    • Drive our medical strategy through cross-functional collaboration and maximize patient outcomes.
    • Create opportunities to gather clinical insights, refine communications and strategies to ensure our plans incorporate the clinician and patient journey.
    • Develop a cohesive scientific narrative and ensure consistency across channels, content formats, and audiences (e.g., Scientific Communications Platform, Publications plans, congress plans, corporate communications).Create and manage publication plans as well as congress strategy.
    • Lead vendor/agency management for development of scientific communications projects (e.g., publications, scientific platforms, slide decks) and manage relevant budgets.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders to align corporate objectives with real-world insights to drive strategy.
    • Develop innovative evidence generation strategies, that may be implemented in products post-launch, along with developing insights for uses of this dataWork in partnership with Market Access to educate payers through scientific exchange.
    • When appropriate, build out and lead the Medical Affairs function (e.g., Field Medical, Scientific Communications and Medical Information, Health Economics and Outcomes Research, Safety)

We’re looking for you to bring

    • A medical degree
    • 8+ years’ experience in  the field of Clinical Development/Medical Affairs.
    • Experience or strong affinity with Neurology and Diseases of Aging
    • Recent product launch experience
    • A “patient first” approach. 
    • Deep understanding and experience with legal, regulatory and compliance as they pertain to provider, patient and payer interactions.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, vendors and timelines.
    • Excited and comfortable operating at both a strategic and tactical level.
    • Accountable and influential leadership with a proven track record of success impact, and ability to lead with a vision.
    • A proven track record of developing collaborative and effective internal and external relationships.
