We’re looking for an assertive and ambitious legal professional based in our Austin, TX office who strives to be at the forefront of the pharmacy industry. Your role and responsibilities will involve working closely with our small legal team along with our robust compliance and technology team to provide support in various legal matters. You will be expected to have significant experience and expertise in the legal field, with the ability to handle complex legal issues. We’re looking for someone who genuinely wants to work in the office, not just tolerates it.
What You'll Do
- Conduct legal research and analysis on a variety of legal problems to aid in case preparation.
- Under the supervision of senior legal professionals, assist in the drafting of legal documents, contracts, petitions, and communications.
- Legal records, case files, and relevant statutes should be reviewed and summarized.
- Keep accurate and well-organized records of legal documents and correspondence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and attorneys to achieve successful case management and communication.
- Stay updated on changes in laws, regulations, and industry trends that may impact the company.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling, filing, and document management.
- Work closely with Human Resources to ensure the organization remains compliant at all times.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in law or a similar subject is required. A Juris Doctor (JD) degree is preferred.
- 3-5 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in a law firm, corporate legal department, or pharmaceutical or medical background (FDA or DEA experience is a plus). Previous experience as a legal associate or a similar role is essential.
- It is preferable to be admitted to the bar or be eligible to take the bar exam.
- Legal ideas, concepts, and procedures are well understood.
- Legal research and analysis using a variety of research methods and databases.
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
- Detail-oriented and capable of managing various tasks and priorities.
- Microsoft Office Suite and legal software packages are required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate in a team environment are required.
