About Megaport
We’re not your typical tech company – and we don’t want to be. Megaport is the global leader in Network as a Service (NaaS), and has transformed the way businesses connect to the cloud, data centers, and each other. We’re publicly listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and partnered with the biggest names in tech like Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Oracle, IBM, and more. Headquartered in Brisbane with a crew of over 350 people spread across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Americas, our employees enjoy an environment that is collaborative, supportive, and (actually) fun.
Our Team Culture
We’re a team of problem solvers, pixel pushers, code slingers, and cloud fanatics. Culture is more than a poster on the wall here – collaboration beats hierarchy, curiosity fuels our growth, and everyone’s voice matters. We take our work seriously, but not ourselves. We work across time zones to execute on our global vision, trust each other to get things done, and never compromise our values for commercial gain. Most importantly, we place our customers at the center of everything we do.
The Role
We’re looking for a Network Support Engineer to join our Global Network Operations team in Sofia. This role plays a vital part in keeping Megaport’s production network running smoothly, ensuring uptime, and resolving complex network incidents.
Megaport is establishing a new office in Sofia and launching a dedicated Network Operations Centre (NOC) team. This is the first of many roles as we build our presence in the region. It’s a unique opportunity to join at the ground level, help shape the future of our operations, and grow your career with one of the world’s leading Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) providers. This is a hybrid position, based in our Sofia office.
If you’re passionate about networking, reliable in high-pressure situations, and motivated to work in a modern, cloud-connected environment, we’d love to hear from you.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Monitor Megaport’s global network and respond to network events and alarms in real-time.
- Troubleshoot incidents across network infrastructure, customer connections, and systems portals.
- Provide L2 escalation support for our global Customer Support team, ensuring timely and accurate resolutions.
- Plan, manage, and execute network changes in collaboration with internal Engineering teams and third-party vendors.
- Communicate clearly with both internal stakeholders and external customers during critical incidents.
- Maintain technical documentation and update tickets using Megaport’s internal OSS/BSS platforms.
- Analyse network data and logs to identify trends or recurring issues.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors performing remote or field work.
- Meet operational KPIs, including response times, resolution rates, and change implementations.
What We Are Looking For
- Hands-on experience in a network support, NOC, or technical operations environment (2–3 years minimum).
- Strong understanding of IP networking, routing protocols (especially BGP), and Ethernet.
- Industry certifications like CCNA or JNCIA are highly valued.
- Working knowledge of fibre optic networks, optical transport, or Layer 1 infrastructure.
- Analytical thinking and a proactive mindset for resolving complex technical issues.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills in English (this is essential for global team collaboration).
- Strong attention to detail with a documentation-first mindset.
- Able to work independently and manage time effectively, especially in a remote or hybrid setup.
- Bonus: Experience with scripting (Python, Bash), Linux environments, or automation tools is a plus.
Working Hours
- Working time between 7:00 and 19:00 at the office according to the predefined shift plan.
- You will be scheduled to work on weekend and public holiday shifts in a rotating cycle.
- Flexibility provided according to the company's internal rules.
What We Offer
- Annual 5% performance-based incentive bonus in addition to base salary.
- Flexible working environment – 3 days per week in our Sofia office.
- Statutory offering and competitive package included.
- Birthday Leave – take a paid day off to celebrate
- Generous training allowance + 5 days paid study leave annually
- A motivated team combining industry experts and emerging talent
- Recognition programs – including Legend and Kudos Awards
- Health & wellness programs and mental well-being support
- Clear opportunities for career progression
