About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Frontend Developer to join our frontend development team to enable us to build high quality software more quickly and to improve our systems for both customers and internal users.
 
Reporting to the Frontend Development Manager, this role will be a key contributor to our highest value web property, the Megaport Portal, and other internal and customer-facing software.
 
Preference will be given to applicants in the Brisbane area, but applications are being accepted from anywhere in Australia or NZ. If working remotely, you will be requested to come to Brisbane for occasional meetings (at Megaport’s expense). If working in Brisbane, you will be requested to come into the office roughly one day a week.

What You’ll Be Doing

    • This role will be a key contributor to a number of internal and customer facing web projects including the Megaport Portal, working with the existing engineering team to build the best user experience and producing a high quality codebase while meeting implementation goals.
    • Help build and maintain our various applications using a modern frontend development stack including Vue 3, Typescript, Vite, Tailwind, Tanstack, NX Monorepo. Experience with design software such as Figma would be a plus.
    • Work closely with and incorporate feedback from project managers, designers and other engineers.
    • Proactively enhance our web platform, and participate in the team culture through mentoring and collaboration.
    • Write client-side code for web-based applications, create fast, easy-to-use applications, and develop prototypes quickly.

What We Are Looking For

    • Significant experience in building applications with Vue, Nuxt or other modern frameworks such as Angular or React.
    • Experience developing unit, integration, and end to end tests using tools such as Playwright and Vitest.
    • An agile mindset with the ability to work in a transparent and collaborative manner.

    • Solid understanding of W3C standards and guidelines such as web accessibility, semantic web, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript Web APIs and internationalisation.
    • Experience and a working knowledge of revision control systems, preferably Git.
