The team:
The Brand Management team is made up of strategy-minded, entrepreneurial & fearless leaders. With a posture for problem solving and optimism, the Mekanism Brand Director is a passionate, collaborative, outgoing, indispensable leader, responsible for fostering breakthrough creative and a healthy client relationship. 

This position within Mekanism is a key member in our (New York) office. Collaborating with Mekanism’s Creative, Strategy, Social, Media & Platforms, Performance and Production teams, fostering a truly integrated approach in everything we do. 

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Build, Grow and Strengthen Relationships:
Onboard any new client(s) and establish best practices early for how to engage in an agency partnership.
Lead all client assignments from briefing through project completion. You will drive and elevate the work, not just execute.
Understand our client’s business, competitive set and ability to generate new ideas and see opportunities to grow scope. 
Able to sense when a brand(s) need more attention before problems arise. And proactively have a POV on how to address the challenges well ahead of time.
Able to constructively challenge client partners with the best interest and brand objectives in mind. 
Be a great communicator and driver - both internally (down, across and up) and with client(s) and other brand partners.
Has a deep understanding of specific brands, category landscape and business. Can communicate a clear POV proactively with core clients and the full Mek team.
Foster a collaborative and integrated work environment across multi disciplines.
A master of eliminating anxiety and stress, remaining highly approachable at all times.
Develop, mentor and manage the junior brand managers on the team, set an example of great brand management.

Drive the development of great strategy, creative & production:
Lead clear, compelling presentations that articulate a clear Mek POV.
Support the creation and production of amazing creative that solves our client’s business problems.
Lead teams to produce all campaign components with their eyes closed, flawlessly.
Proactively managing client expectations and protect the integrity of the creative.
Understands production budgets and is able to discern realistic pushback internally and externally. Ability to partner with production to find solutions.
Partner with Strategy to turn our clients problems & briefs into inspiring solutions & channel first thinking.
Work with Project Management to develop timelines, traffic sheets and creative rotations in tandem with production and media.
Gain the trust of Mekanism ECD / CDs to present and challenge the work.
Find ways to push teams to think outside of the box on briefs, budgets & opportunities. Have a pulse on new media and what is happening in culture.
Proven integrated production guru that can lead campaign execution independently.

Oversee Financial Health of Brands:
Manage and drive the overall profitability of a large global brand in partnership with GBD.
Constantly seek new ways to grow business across Mekanism’s revenue streams.
Able to put together staffing plans and track scope and burn reports.
Manage brands fees/jobs to scope. Able to flag financial issues before they arise, and proactively strategizing with GBD and / or  Head of Brand Mgmt to resolve issues that impact big picture goals. 
Able to ideate and upsell out of scope opportunities to grow accounts.
