About the Group
Mx Assist is a team of 10 people fully dedicated to providing assistance to Mendix developers while working with Studio Pro (our low-code IDE). We manage different projects, from Logic Bot (AI-based suggestions) and Validation assists to big features like Performance Bot (analyzing and providing performance suggestions) and Machine Learning Kits (to import ONNX models into the Mendix platform).
We share principles of openness, teamwork, and autonomy in making product and technical decisions. We use Scrum and Kanban methodologies for software development.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be a critical part of our growing company, working on a cross-functional team to implement best practices in technology, architecture, and process. In this role, you will develop new features from scratch as well as improve current ones. You will collaborate with Product and Design teams to provide user-centric solutions. You will develop and execute against both short and long-term roadmaps, making effective trade-offs between business impact, user experience, and a high-quality technical foundation. You will own relationships with other engineering teams and collaborate with other functions within Mendix. You have a drive to constantly investigate performance improvements and innovative ideas.

The personality we are searching for in this role:

    • Enjoy solving challenges by understanding them and deconstructing them into elegant, understandable code
    • Are able to break challenges down to iteratively build the solution with short feedback cycles
    • Have a good understanding of core concepts of computer science and apply them regularly
    • Are persistently curious and have strong analytical skills that help you ask great questions
    • Are always learning and innovating in your work, staying up-to-date in your field
    • Will dive deep into existing functionality to refactor and add new functionality
    • Prefer to work in a team instead of working in isolation
    • Like to learn from others and coach and mentor to help others be successful
    • Take responsibility for the quality of your work by identifying risks and testing it

    • Professional proficiency in Machine Learning: foundational concepts, metrics, model training, deployment and evaluation.
    • Professional proficiency in Data Science: foundational concepts of data analysis, model creation, hypothesis checking, model performance analysis and scenarios analysis
    • Experience with shallow models (Regression, Decision Trees, etc) and Deep Learning (Preferably sequence models such as LSTM, RNNs, etc).

Tech Stack (depends on the project):

    • Languages: Java, Scala
    • Technologies/Services: Airflow, AWS Infra, Spark, TensorFlow, Pytorch, SciKit, Kubernetes, Terraform

Will be a plus:

    • Knowledge and practical experience on Machine Learning Engineering Design Patterns, Transformer architecture.
    • Experience with building software design tools or code analysis tools
    • Strong knowledge and usage of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design, SOLID principles

If you see a job description and think, “I’d be perfect for that” but your experience doesn’t align perfectly with the qualifications – don’t let that hold you back. We’re always eager to hire talented, passionate candidates – so give it a try and apply.
