The Role

As a contracted team member at Merit, you will be part of a team that drives the application and claims process for parent and guardian applicants to receive awards for each qualifying student (up to 3 per household) in the Oklahoma Parental Tax Choice Program, ACE-Ohio or Kansas KEEP Programs. You will play an active role in confirming the information submitted with the application, requesting clarifying information when an application or claim is incomplete or ambiguous, and communicating reasons for denial and support on how to update the application if applicable.

Responsibilities

    • Review, document, and confirm parent details and student details for each application or claim with accuracy
    • Collaborate with team members with the singular goal of moving applications and claims through the process in a timely manner
    • Communicate with applicants through email and phone to assist in the completion of the application
    • Understand the requirements and guidelines to participate in the State’s program
    • Be responsible for recording which applications or claims pass or fail based on your and your team reviews

Qualifications

    • 2+ years experience in multiple industries; Customer, Technical, and/or Sales Support role
    • Proficiency in a CRM such as Hubspot, Salesforce, Zendesk, or other
    • Proficiency in either Google Sheets, Excel, or both
    • Ability to multitask effectively and follow through on tasks
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Adept at communicating benefits and managing conflict where it arises
    • Highly motivated, values-driven team player with high energy, and enthusiasm
    • Fluency in English (required)
    • Veteran affiliation (preferred)
