Please note: This is an entry level position. Starting pay is $20 per hour.

The Desktop Support acts as initial contact for all internal and external customer technical support required for computer workstation hardware and software, telephone, network, operating system, printing, and Internet access problems.

Duties include answering the help desk phone, recording the call, first level corrective action, problem escalation to second level when necessary. Performs installs, upgrades, moves, and changes for computer workstation hardware and software, printers, tape drives, CD-ROM drives, and other peripheral devices.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Additional responsibilities as assigned

Essential Duties:

    • Answering the help desk phone, recording events and problems and their resolution in a ticketing system, first level corrective action, problem escalation to second level when necessary.
    • Performs imaging, installs, upgrades, moves, and changes for computer workstation hardware, software, printers, hard drives, CD-ROM drives and other peripheral devices.
    • Diagnose and resolve onsite and remote PC related computing problems through approved techniques and pertinent questions.
    • Follow-up and update customer status and information.

Education and experience:

    • 1-3 years of experience in a PC/local area network support environment.
    • Strong technical knowledge of PCs, laptops, printers, mobile devices and peripheral hardware devices.
    • Strong working knowledge of Windows 10 Operating System, Microsoft Office, MS-DOS, communications software, virus protection, administration techniques and diagnostic software.
    • Working knowledge of office automation products, Microsoft Virtual Environments (O365 & Azure).

Hours and Pay

    • 40 hours per week.   
    • Monday - Friday between the hours of 9am-5pm
    • $20 per hour plus benefits
