Merlin Global Services is looking for an Accounting Specialist with proven GL skills. The ideal person will have a minimum of 5+ years of Accounting experience. Attention to detail and accuracy are absolute requirements. Government contractor industry experience a real plus but not a requirement. This is a full-time position. 

Responsibilities:

    • Prepare journal entries for month-end closing including GL, AP, AR, Cash and Fixed Assets
    • Prepare month end reconciliations for selected accounts
    • Responsible for bank reconciliations including general and payroll accounts
    • Manage fixed asset ledger and all related activity
    • Support financial statement preparation

    • Additional responsibilities may include:
    • Credit card account reconciliations
    • Post credit card purchases to accounts
    • Applying payments to customer accounts
    • Process travel expense reports
    • Assist in review of internal controls
    • Prepare, analyze, and report weekly AP payments
    • Maintain documentation and procedures in accordance with company policy.
    • Assume and perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Requirements

    • Must have a Bachelor Degree in Accounting or related discipline
    • At least 5+ years of full-cycle Accounting experience preferred with heavy emphasis on General Ledger and Journal Entries
    • Quick Books experience preferred
    • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work in a deadline-oriented environment
    • Deltek, Unanet or other ERP systems experience required
    • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) experience required
    • Familiarity with GAAP and FAR a plus
    • Must be detail oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work individually and with other team members with minimum supervision
