Merlin Labs is looking for a Global Trade Analyst to join our Business Operations Team. As we Coordination of  day-to-day trade operations and monitoring trade processes and complete documentation necessary for international trade.

Responsibilities:

    • Provide support and guidance to Team members; projects and ad hoc teams that typically include Procurement, Engineering, and Shipping and Receiving personnel.
    • Coordinate special project development and implementation across multiple departments
    • Communicate with all personnel and trade service providers to ensure export and import data and documentation fulfill Bureau of Industry and Security, U.S. Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control, Customs and Border Protection, Food and Drug Administration and other government agency trade requirements.
    • Conduct trade compliance audits to support Global Trade Import Operations
    • Manage all aspects of export licensing activities, including the preparation and submission of license and license exception applications to the US Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security
    • Develop and maintain internal export license control process flow in conjunction with affected international subsidiary companies
    • Ensure all operating systems and databases relevant to import/export activities are operating in compliance with trade policies and government regulations.
    • Continuously monitor government and industry developments
    • Assist in implementation and oversight of Global Trade compliance program
    • If applicable, and under direction of the Global Trade operations Manager, work with customs brokers and external counsel to resolve problems and coordinate responses to U.S. Customs inquiries.
    • Communicate effectively with internal and external business partners to achieve company objectives

Requirements:

    • Experience with ECCN code assignment for export products/materials
    • Experience with establishing trade control levels for internal IP Development
    • Familiarity with working with the U.S. Commerce Dept. as it pertains to ECCN
    • Experience with building an export control program, including process flow, data storage, and external communication
    • Familiarity with building internal export training programs for all employees and new hires
    • Experience with BIS and DDTC licenses or license exceptions
    • Experience with creating and managing ACE accounts
    • Bonus; Experience in aviation/aerospace industry
