Key Responsibilities:

    • Understanding of the current and evolving landscape of regulatory compliance and risk management for global financial technology companies 
    • Monitor developments in financial regulation and considers implications for compliance; offers business specific solutions for our internal and external controls
    • SME of the Know Your Client (KYC) process and ensure appropriate client information is obtained to meet regulatory requirements and assess client objectives and constraints; assists cross functional partners in data collection
    • Assists in developing controls and governance processes and ensuring employees fulfill their compliance obligations relating to these
    • Stay abreast of regulatory developments and internal compliance procedures, develop strategies and plans for implementation of new regulations, comply with evolving requirements, oversee the integration of new processes, and engage effectively with investment teams
    • Translates security and compliance requirements into tasks, prioritizes tickets, removes blockers, develops plans, and roadmaps to support development 
    • Identifies one or more frameworks for development and conducts periodic reviews to incorporate new findings, and updating of the policies, procedures and operating manuals 
    • Develop and implement additional value-added enterprise risk management initiatives that support the company's overall risk management objectives 
    • Develop key deliverables, including process flows, work programs, reports, and control summaries 
    • Manage execution of screening policies & procedures related to enterprise wide risk and fraud management, KYC/AML, which includes managing milestones, execution, reporting timelines
    • An understanding of and ability to implement core business processes and controls, compliance, and investigation functions related to banking, payments, such as NACHA rules, Reg E, GLBA, SWIFT, GDPR, etc. 
    • Deep knowledge of key banking and payments regulations, and ability to implement and manage controls and compliance, such as BSA/AML, KYC/CIP/CDD/EDD, PEP, & OFAC sanctions and the understanding of the possible implications of financial sanctions on banks and financial institutions (OFAC, HM Treasury, EU, and UN sanctions) 
    • Monitor the changes in regulations applicable to global financial crimes, including advising business leaders on those changes, directing the appropriate areas to implement or amend policies, standards, procedures and/or processes to address regulatory requirements, and challenging the implementation plan as needed; ensures a comprehensive regulatory inventory
    • Ensures compliance with AML and KYC checks as needed, oversee filings with regulatory bodies and perform activity reviews including OFAC positive matches 
    • Manage execution of reviewing and investigating daily transaction monitoring alerts for potential fraud and money laundering 
    • Set and maintain SAR filing standards & provide feedback; Prepare and file SARs in a timely manner 
    • Assist during regulatory exams and internal audits by supplying information in a timely and accurate manner 
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide insights and input into content creation of presentations on key compliance initiatives, strategy, and execution 
    • Liaise & communicate with external and internal partners, provide support and evidence as required, complete requests, & participate in meetings 
    • Collaborate with multiple compliance groups, business teams, technology, and infrastructure
    • Address ad hoc projects and manage miscellaneous matters, including maintaining informational documents, tracking meetings and metrics, and creating/updating dashboard 
    • Advanced project management and status reporting capabilities; prepare and deliver quarterly compliance reports to Executive Management 
    • Act as compliance related subject matter expert; ability to grow into Officer level role
    • Other responsibilities and duties as assigned 

About You:

    • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Finance, Business, Management, or other related fields 
    • CAMS Certified
    • +5 years of compliance, risk, fraud prevention, within the banking services industry experience 
    • Working knowledge of US banking compliance relating to domestic and international wires, ACH, SWIFT, debit and credit card, check payments, and other common treasury + payments services 
    • Experience in financial crime in either testing, advisory, audit or legal capacity; experience in online risk (fraud, AML/CTF) prevention 
    • In-depth knowledge of with financial crime (BSA, AML, OFAC, ABC etc.) laws and regulations and other pertinent regulatory guidance in order to assess financial crime risks
    • Strong research background and ability to understand the implications of financial sanctions on professionals/blocked people/specially designated nationals (SDNs) and risks of dealing with them 
    • Understanding of sourcing information from various data sources, (Bloomberg, Factiva, Lexis Nexis, etc.) and in several cases utilizing financial reports and audited statements for such purposes 
    • Experience filing SARs, CTRS, and OFAC reports electronically and/or conducting QA/QC on SARs
    • Experience with program management skills with an ability to develop solutions to problems with ambiguous guidelines 
    • Adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment and be able to meet strict deliverable deadlines
    • Advanced verbal and written communication skills, including documentation of findings and recommendations 
    • Outstanding presentation skills with the ability to interact and influence technical and non-technical groups including executives 
    • Ability to work with a diverse portfolio of clients and partners across e-commerce, tech, banking, and payments industries 
    • Capable of successfully handling multiple tasks and projects simultaneously; embraces growth mindset 
    • Supervisory experience of teams including junior and senior team members, and consultants 
    • Experience with drafting workflows, policies, and procedures 
    • Experience with conducting risk assessments 
    • Other ad-hoc projects & task as assigned
    • Job duties are highly collaborative in nature and require on-site presence to be performed 5 days a week
$100,000 - $120,000 a year
