Our Mission

Role Overview:
 
The Master Electrician performs installations and inspections of electrical systems to determine appropriate sub-metering measures.
 
To be successful in this position, the candidate must fit in the Metergy culture where emphasis is placed on: 
Pro-active communication and issue identification to help the business stay ahead of potential issues to develop sufficient mitigation plans to minimize impact to business and Metergy clients and customers 
Continuous improvement to help the business operations evolve with changing market conditions and business growth plans.  

Key Responsibilities:

    • Inspection, review and analysis of electrical and mechanical systems in existing buildings and those proposed in new construction projects for the purpose of determining appropriate type and sizing of utility sub-metering equipment.
    • Installation of sub-metering systems in existing buildings and new construction projects.
    • Retrofitting existing sub-metering systems with AMR (Automated Meter Reading) equipment.
    • Installation of thermostats and high efficiency light products
    • Service and repair as necessary of existing sub-metering systems
    • Collaborate with other teams within the company to communicate updates.
    • Perform electrical panel labelling ensuring correct breakers are assigned to correct units.
    • Actively participate in and drive key departmental process and procedure improvement programs as required. 
    • Mentor entry level field service meter technicians on basic electrical concepts.
    • Work collaboratively with coordinators and Field Supervisor to ensure that project tasks are completed on time.  
    • Identifying problems and coming up with effective solutions quickly. 
    • Foster a safety culture. 
    • Organize material, equipment and tools on job sites.
    • Communicates regularly with service team, leadership and customers to facilitate service projects and ensure jobs are run efficiently and effectively

Qualifications:

    • 5+ years experience with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the electrical field. The ideal candidate will also have 3-5 Years’ experience in HVAC service and troubleshooting
    • OSHA 30 and SST 10 certifications.
    • Valid Master Electrician License required
    • Experience working in a highly independent environment.
    • Experience communicating verbally, written and electronically on-site with internal and external field resources and clients required
    • Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the trades.
    • Ability to work independently with digital multimeter for voltage and amperage testing on 120/208 and 480 volt electrical services.
    • Familiarity with some of the applicable electrical and plumbing codes, standards, and regulations.
    • Familiarity with electrical application for high and low voltage electric systems and experience safely removing and working in/around electrical panels. 
    • Ability to use email and Microsoft applications.
$35 - $50 an hour
