Director of Finance & Accounting

You will be the first full-time finance professional at Mindflash, directly responsible for critical functions including planning, analysis, and day-to-day accounting . As a small and growing company, we need a team member who will roll up his/her sleeves and dive into the details. The Director of Finance & Accounting must also be a strong communicator, as this role is highly visible within the organization and must interact well with colleagues at all levels.

What you will do

    • Oversee all day-to-day financial and accounting functions;
    • Oversee the monthly and yearly close process, and fully own the financial statements;
    • Assist the executive team with client contract issues;
    • Work with the VPs of Sales, Customer Success, and Product on ad hoc reporting and analysis
    • Work with the CEO on the budgeting process and provide timely and insightful reporting into variances versus budget;
    • Analyze and interpret financial data and recommend changes to improve systems and performance;
    • Prepare cash flow forecasts and manage cash;
    • Assist Sales, Market, and Customer Success teams with special projects as required;
    • Oversee and mentor our part time bookkeeper and part time accounts receivable associate;
    • Develop, maintain, and regularly prepare and review financial reporting packages for the executive team and board of directors;
    • Work with the executive team on board decks and pitch decks as needed;

Required Qualifications for the Role:

    • The successful candidate will be an experience finance hire with previous experience working in technology company. You will be capable of working with in a rapidly changing environment and interfacing with individuals across departments as well as 3rd parties.
    • 3+ years of related professional experience;
    • Must have prior experience in a SaaS company or with SaaS clients
    • Willingness to dig in and roll up sleeves to develop strategy while executing day to day finance processes;
    • Strong analytical skills with ability to evaluate issues, propose and implement solutions with consideration for all downstream implications;
    • Demonstrated strong working knowledge, understanding and experience utilizing US GAAP accounting rules and regulations;
    • Comfortable posting and reviewing journal entries;
    • Tech-savvy and comfortable using excel pivot tables and advanced functions; knowledge or willingness to learn advanced Salesforce functions;
    • Highly responsible, detail oriented, and organized;
    • Great communicator and mentor, team player;
    • Used to working in a fast-paced environment;
    • A get-it-done attitude and a bias toward action;
    • A college degree;

Nice-to-haves for the Role:

    • Past experience in a high growth software company;
    • Proficiency with Quickbooks and Zuora a plus;
    • Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM technology;
    • CPA
