About MiSK Museum:

A headline MiSK initiative is a major new science and discovery museum primarily for Saudi children in their family and school groups. Located in Riyadh, the Museum’s mission is to provide unique, engaging experiences that will awaken a love of science and broaden their horizons, unlocking the excitement, passion and talents that will produce the scientists, designers and technologists of Saudi’s future. This new building will be approximately 15,000 square metres, employ over 150 staff, and be world class in its continued delivery of exceptional learning experiences. The Museum is due to open in 2020. 

The MiSK Foundation is working with an international team to shape the vision of this new museum. The current phase will culminate in an architectural competition, to run over Summer 2017.

About the role:

We want to appoint a full time Program Manager, representing MiSK as Project Executive and responsible for co-ordinating the delivery of the Museum. Working with MiSK stakeholders and with relevant parties, they will ensure the Museum’s development is well documented and managed, especially in respect to budget, time, quality and risk. They will guard the vision throughout the life cycle of project development, ensuring the delivered Museum is befitting its aspiration. 

Key responsibilities

    • Taking a leadership role, championing the delivery of the MiSK Museum project.
    • Managing and coordinating MiSK Museum contracts with external agents. 
    • Developing and coordinating administrative systems for recording Museum development. 
    • Managing and coordinating all internal and external project meetings. 
    • Build relationships with local and international organizations in support of the Museum’s aims. 
    • Identifying issues requiring attention and formulate strategies for addressing those issues.
    • Representing MiSK Foundation and the Museum when building external partnerships.
    • Organizing activities that supports project development (e.g. focus groups).
    • Frequent reporting to MiSK stakeholders.

The main objectives of the role are to:

    • Leading the development and delivery of the MiSK Museum, safeguarding the integrity of the project vision. 
    • Track budgets and programs. 
    • Set-up and manage contracts.   
    • Guard the excellence of the project. 
    • Co-ordinate communications – internal, and with external agencies. 
    • Represent MiSK and the project across all functions. 
    • Proactively identify opportunities and strategise against risk.  
    • Champion efficiency and excellence. 


    • Knowledge, expertise and/or degree level qualification in a field related to project management. 
    • Experience in the Museum and / or informal learning sector. 


    • Project management involving the delivery of either new build projects, or / and educational initiatives.
    • Experience of working with multiple contractors.
    • Knowledge and experience of contract negotiation and implementation.
    • Budget management. 
    • Programme management. 
    • Qualification in a related discipline or a minimum of 5 years equivalent experience.
    • Exceptional administration skills. 
    • Excellent practical approach to problem solving.
    • Exceptional communication skills. 
    • Can speak and write in English and Arabic to an excellent standard. 


    • Experience of working with architects. 
    • Expertise in the Saudi Arabian educational landscape.
