At Misk Foundation, we do not just ‘Talk about youth’ we ‘Talk to them.’ In order to do so, we must understand young people and their challenges to a great degree. Working in the Research Program means doing just that, understanding young people in order to empower them. Our role is to conduct research projects and utilize these insights to support the other programs with insights and recommendations. We also synthesize data to inform strategic decisions for leadership as well as supporting the operational needs with their research needs.
Your role as a SENIOR RESEARCH MANAGER is to manage multiple research based projects and transition from vendor engagement to internal delivery seamlessly. You are expected to deliver on long term objectives and yearly goals as well as weekly and daily tasks depending on changing priorities based on business needs. At one end your role is to support the programs and at the other end you are to inform decision making; as such you must be capable of engaging with multiple stakeholders of different seniority and able to communicate with them effectively. This role is multi-layered but also fast paced and we welcome those who are interested in this challenge.
Manage multiple research projects from A to Z including vendor management to collect and analyze user behavior through benchmark studies, literature reviews, focus groups and surveys.
Proactively support internal program team with insights, optimization recommendations, and processes based on data
Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research. Advocate research findings to diverse audiences through written reports and verbal/PPT presentations.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders on behalf of Misk Foundation as needed
Enhance the Foundation’s data practices and champion data-based decision making on all levels in the organization
Master’s degree or PhD in a related field.
7+ years of relevant work experience, including experience integrating user data and topical insights into internal programs and impact frameworks
Project Management Experience in Research
Experience with SQL, Python, SPSS, Macros/VBA, and a working knowledge of statistics
Strong understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them depending on project phases
Excellent working knowledge of statistics and the principles of experiment design.
Effective interpersonal, communication, negotiation and collaboration skills.
