Pay range (depending on experience): $75,000 - $95,000/year
Schedule/Shift: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM
Territory/Range: San Diego, CA
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and mentor the Customer Service Specialist team, overseeing daily workflows and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Manage the full referral intake process in Homecare Homebase (HCHB), including electronic referral systems, eligibility screening, and coordination of complex cases (e.g., IVs, TPNs).
- Review referrals for appropriateness, ensure accurate physician identification, and support the team with training on referral guidelines and standards.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Clinicians, Insurance Authorization, Scheduling, and Quality teams to facilitate smooth patient transitions and timely care.
- Maintain current knowledge of Medicare/insurance regulations and home health services; adapt intake processes as federal/state guidelines change.
- Verify insurance eligibility using MVP and Medi-Cal systems; confirm patient information and Durable Power of Attorney documentation when applicable.
- Monitor patient progress pre-admission to prevent delays and ensure seamless coordination among departments.
- Provide backup support to Marketing and assist in promoting new services and products.
- Ensure accurate documentation of physician orders, verify credentials, and obtain necessary authorization details.
- Participate in all required meetings, training sessions, and compliance initiatives.
- Adhere to all company policies, regulatory requirements, and uphold confidentiality and professionalism.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of intake experience in home health required.
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience with Homecare Homebase (HCHB) required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work effectively across departments.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal, and home health regulatory guidelines.
- High emotional intelligence with the ability to explain complex topics clearly.
- Professional, ethical, and sensitive to internal and external stakeholder needs.
