Role Summary

We are seeking a talented and experienced software engineer to join our Knowledge and Search engineering team. You will be responsible for designing, implementing and scaling our search capabilities supporting the needs of our users and internal systems.

What you will do

Key Responsibilities 

The Knowledge & Search team is the backbone that connects our customers to the information they need. We are looking for an experienced software engineer to lead our indexing and searching capabilities. In this role, you will work closely with our data and infrastructure teams to build, maintain and scale our search platform while ensuring a high-level of performance and reliability.

Your responsibilities include (but may not be limited to):
• Building, maintaining and enhancing a fast, reliable and scalable indexing and searching capabilities (web and knowledge)
• Working with search-oriented databases to optimise and fine-tune full search pipelines from document ingestion to retrieval
• Owning our information retrieval systems serving both our internal needs as well as our enterprise customers
• Ensuring that our search capabilities meet the increasing demands of our customers
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to push the boundaries of search reliability, performance, and scale across a range and cloud-native and on-premise services.

About you

• 7+ years of relevant professional work experience
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
• Experience building and scaling distributed search engine systems
• Excellent proficiency in backend software development (Python, Go, C++, Rust...)
• Solid proficiency in infrastructure management (Docker, K8s, Terraform...)
• Good knowledge of cloud-native ecosystems
• Autonomous and self-starter
• Ability to communicate with influence

Now, it would be ideal if you had experience with:
• AI/ML engineering
• Infrastructure management (Docker, CI/CD, K8s, Helm, Terraform...)
Location & Remote

This role is primarily based at our HQ in Paris, France. We will prioritize candidates who either reside in Paris or are open to relocating. We strongly believe in the value of in-person collaboration to foster strong relationships and seamless communication within our team. Our remote work policy is designed to offer flexibility, enhance work-life balance, and boost productivity. The number of remote workdays is determined by each manager, taking into account individual autonomy and specific circumstances—such as increased flexibility during the summer months. Regardless of the arrangement, we expect all employees to maintain open lines of communication with their teams and be available during core working hours.

In certain specific situations, we will also consider remote candidates based in one of the countries listed in this job posting (currently France, UK, Germany, Netherlands, Spain and Italy). In that case, we ask all new hires to visit our Paris office:
•  for the first month of their onboarding (accommodation and travelling covered)
•  then at least 3 days per month
