MMI is seeking a highly driven and well-rounded Account Director to join our dynamic brand activation agency. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of developing senior-level client relationships while consistently growing accounts. Applicants should demonstrate the ability to plan and strategize at a high level while directing teams working cross-functionally within an organization. This includes fostering a positive team environment while instilling passion, pride and accountability in all team members.

Responsibilities

    • Build and grow positive client relationships as well as existing book of business
    • Develop and write integrated strategies focused on client and end user needs
    • Provide strategic marketing leadership to both client and internal teams by leveraging integrated marketing knowledge to make decisions and ongoing recommendations
    • Proactively identify client needs and generate innovative ideas and solutions
    • Ensure client work is executed in alignment with the agreed-upon strategy and is achieving the defined goals/objectives while also being profitable to MMI
    • Monitor burn reports and hours team is putting towards brands and look for efficiencies in partnership with project manager to help make account more profitable
    • Identify and anticipate potential issues and proactively deliver solutions
    • Lead and  address difficult conversations with clients in professional manner
    • Study and stay current on client’s product, business culture, competition, target audiences as well as the marketing industry
    • Direct the daily activities of the assigned account team
    • Lead the collaboration with other agency departments
    • Review key materials prior to presentation to client and provide strategic feedback to ensure best product delivery
    • Mentor and develop assigned team members in a constructive way
    • Review and approve billing worksheets
    • Develop and analyze client forecasts and monthly profit/loss reports
    • Write thought leadership articles to be published on MMI’s blog and other industry sites
    • Represent the agency at various industry functions, when necessary
    • Own full the development of scopes of work, including experience in team and resource planning

Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing or related field
    • Six or more years of experience in an agency
    • Ability to plan and strategize on high-level, integrated initiatives
    • Experience marketing in digital channels – search (organic and paid), social, display, programmatic and video
    • Experience working with media, creative and development teams to produce and iterate digital assets
    • Ability to lead and develop cohesive media plans and go to market strategies for complex clients
    • Experience leading direct to consumer, performance based media programs
    • Analytical and logical; standard strategic marketing skills (competitive assessment, industry analysis, SWOT, etc)
    • Superior written and interpersonal communication skills (sample required)
    • Proven track record of building and sustaining client relationships at a senior level
    • Ability to successfully manage cross-functional teams within an organization
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and proven ability to learn and master additional productivity software.
