MMI is looking to add a highly-driven Media Director to our team! The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is hands on, possesses a tireless work ethic and sets an example that others want to follow. Media Directors should have extensive background in the planning, buying, executing and subsequent evaluation of media channels that are relevant to drive the client’s business KPIs. Additionally, they should be able to see the bigger media landscape and determine the ideal media outlet mix to drive business results.

Responsibilities

    • Support the Group Practice Directors to define the work scope of the practice. Involved in the internal and external hiring, evaluation and retention process to build a top-talent team
    • Support the success of the practice by ensuring best in class standards are met and timely applied to client work
    • Provide POVs on relevant media trends for clients and help establish industry recognition for MMI
    • Support Group Director new business efforts by providing assets and metrics to develop winning pitches
    • Create and sustain an encouraged cross-learning environment for all current and emerging media channels in order to stay abreast of the latest trends, technologies and techniques
    • Support Group Director’s vision of professional development by mentoring junior members of the team
    • Suggest and assess emerging tools and platforms and disseminate information across teams and the agency
    • Identify agency work appropriate for submission in industry award competitions
    • Ensure client work is compliant with agency process and deliverable standards
    • Able to be the second set of eyes when called upon to evaluate media channel performance on accounts
    • Capable of leading in person and over the phone client presentations, with strong emphasis on quarterly business reviews
    • Train and mentor media managers and media specialists
    • Present case studies and client work at departmental media meetings and/or agency-wide meetings
    • Paid Search
    • Intimately familiar with the Google Ads and Bing Ads user interface, able to guide junior team members and clients through a how-to / Q&A session
    • Able to handle all daily optimization tasks in the Paid Search accounts, including but not limited to:
    • Keyword level bid management & account expansion
    • Traffic negation to eliminate poorly performing clicks
    • Additional ads and extensions implementation
    • Landing page and CVR recommendation
    • Reporting, troubleshooting and pulling insights in Google Analytics or other equivalent analytics platform
    • Formulate presentations and being able to tell salient stories based on search query level data
    • Capable of giving the client POV on all Paid Search related matter, with special emphasis on betas and emerging search trends

Requirements

    • Minimum of eight years as a media professional – preferably working with or for an agency   
    • Minimum of two years of experience effectively managing teams and inspiring them to deliver their best work
    • Strong management and interpersonal skills
    • Experience in successfully planning and strategizing integrated campaigns, including multiple tactics
    • History of successfully pitching business opportunities to existing and potential clients
    • Proven track record of building and sustaining client relationships at a senior level
    • Able to write concisely and present ideas confidently
    • Willingness to travel on occasion for client meetings
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and proven ability to learn and master additional productivity software.
