MMI Agency is looking for a detailed oriented, passionate and highly driven SEO expert to join our dynamic and growing conversation agency. The ideal candidate will have strong technical SEO implementation and analytical skills. They will have a proven track record of creating, implementing and managing projects that have successfully driven business results. They will be responsible for end to end SEO management; tactical execution, building site authority, identify content and keyword opportunities, reporting and analytical insights. They are expected to work directly with the client and lead calls concerning all SEO projects. They will also be able to work closely with all internal teams; account, insights, media, and social to ensure all efforts are fully integrated. The position requires strong organizational and time management skills as they will be working in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects. They must be strategic but also hands-on, diplomatic yet inspirational, and poised under pressure.

Responsibilities

    • Provide strategic counsel to clients, understand their business, and serve as their go-to thought leader on SEO and content opportunities
    • Develop and implement SEO campaigns, strategies and initiatives, including eRetailer & YouTube optimization
    • Assist client teams in developing SEO strategies and programs that meet client business goals
    • Conduct natural search research
    • Conduct key phrase research for organic search and YouTube
    • Create client-bound research and execution documents
    • Research and implement linking strategies
    • Create monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc reports per client’s business specs
    • Conduct and implement multiple page-level optimizations per client’s business needs
    • Develop, manage and provide SEO related reporting for clients and in-house management teams
    • Identify SEO opportunities on websites of clients
    • Collaborating with client’s technical group in order to implement proposed recommendations
    • Work with cross functional departments to develop and track all details of SEO initiatives
    • Build and maintain project management processes that streamline SEO initiatives
    • Assist clients in building and understanding business goals in relation to content/SEO strategies and programs
    • Adept at explaining difficult concepts using simple language and graphics
    • Maintaining expertise on search engine news and trends
    • All other responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

    • More than eight years of tactical and strategic experience in SEO with a minimum of three years' agency-side
    • Possess a BA/BS in Marketing, Advertising, English, Journalism or related discipline
    • A passion for connecting queries to content, and a commitment to making sure the client’s relevant content is found by those who are looking for it
    • Experience as a SEO copywriter with an understanding of how to write for both users and search engines at once
    • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
    • Strong working knowledge of leading web analytics and SEO tools
    • A proven record of page placement and website optimization
    • Enjoy problem solving and have the ability to adapt to new technologies and processes
    • Strong organizational skills, being able to manage multiple projects at once in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
    • Be a proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently while collaborating with other departments
    • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Java Script and Flash
    • Serve as SEO expert for business development pitches
    • Provide training and education for non-SEO team members and clients
